Welcome back to football season! I hope everyone is as pumped as I am. And what could make college football season more fun than a survivor pool?

We had 36 players last year, and I expect even more will join and try to unseat defending champion @HawkAlum2002 . Last season's pool was a short one, only lasting 8 weeks, with 18 players eliminated that week, 17 of them due to the same upset. We'll see if we can get a better showing from all the football gurus this season.

This year we welcome FBS newcomers North Dakota State and Sacramento State to the pool, although SSU has already picked up a loss in Week 0, so they are eliminated from consideration even before it began. Other teams that have already been eliminated are TCU, San Jose St, NC St, Jacksonville St, Hawaii, New Mexico St and UNLV.

Quick review of Survivor Pool rules:

1) Each week, pick a team that you think will win.

2) You can only pick a team that is currently undefeated.

3) You can only pick an FBS team that is playing another FBS team.

4) You can only pick each team once per season!

-If the team you pick wins, then you "survive" to the next week.

-If your team loses, or if you run out of teams to pick, then you are eliminated.

-Picks must be made before the kickoff of the game you pick - a timely reply to the current week's thread is the only acceptable way of making a pick. I will allow changes in picks as long as they are done before both the original and new game kickoff.

-Anyone wanting to play MUST START WEEK 1. There is no fair way to add players after the first week of games is already completed.

-An updated pool chart will be attached every week, showing everyone's picks, who has survived and who has been eliminated.

-The length of the game depends on the success of the participants, as well as the number of undefeated teams that remain throughout the season. If necessary, we will pick up-to and including the championship game to determine a winner. The current college football playoff format gives us up to 18 weeks to play.

-You are responsible for your own pick. If you pick an ineligible team (team not playing an FBS opponent, team not undefeated, team you picked earlier in the pool or team on a bye week), you are automatically eliminated. Know the rules, and don't count on your opponents to point out an error that you made. 6 players were eliminated last year due to submitting ineligible picks.

-If a tiebreaker is needed, that situation will be addressed if and when it comes up.

So, have fun. I will try to keep the Sheet updated and as current as I can, but my time on HR is sporadic.

First eligible teams kick off on Thursday, so quickly start looking at the schedule and get a pick in to me before your game kicks off Sept 3-7.

Best of luck
