A story about Lebby being on a hot seat and what the must-wins and buyout are. Didn't click on it to read it and I'm not linking it here. But that's not an appropriate story for a beat writer to be running with 5 days before the season starts. 17 him and 17 them.

You had 8 months to run that story. And if we're sitting at 2-4 midway through the season, it might be appropriate then. But not the week of the first game of the season. Where's his story of potential bowls we might go to this year?
You mean they didn't have a lead story about one of our players running over someone's dog with their car? Seriously, how many stories do they ever run about OM players have a speeding ticket or some other minor incident non-football related? Its been going on for decades. One school has the medical, law and journalism schools so we should never expect fair treatment in the MS courts or the MS media. And my suggestion would be not to say you are a State fan when you are admitted to the hospital.

Ole Miss has a Journalism school we don't. They got the right people in the right places. We don't but our people can guess the weather.

The highest use for the CL was as a birdcage liner. Now that everything is digital, I don't know why they exist.
Honestly, if it weren't for the occasional mention of them on this message board, I would have no clue that they are still a published newspaper. I live in the Jackson metro area and haven't seen one of their papers in numerous years. I imagine in another 10 years or so, once people my parent's age have died off, that rag will be gone as well.

Pat's right. Why run this story now, or at all at this point? If he starts 4-0 and has an upset along the way (nearly exactly what happened LAST YEAR if we had just closed out UT) he won't be on the hot seat at all.
