We'll see. If he stinks it up this season, fire him. I'm hoping Batt is more proactive and judicial about things.
Mitchell Not Coming to UK

If UK doesn't blast the SEC commish, they should be fired. They drug this out till he felt like he had to go somewhere or else there would be nowhere to go.
It's not going to happen but he's a lame duck coach at this point. The worst thing would be 20-12 a 5 seed and sneaks into sweet 16.
We should start a company. Pope Co Whiffing Balls and Bat for 19.99
"You're guaranteed to always miss!"
Batt should be firing people for this spectacle.
Watch the SEC end up folding anyway on their rule, adding to the misery
I really don’t think even sneaking into the sweet 16 would save his job
Media will be dog piling on us all day, rightfully so.
Yeah, we know you're happy for this news.
Stupid post. Billy D has never been interested or ever will be interested in UK. Pope is our coach get behind him or get out. That simple.
People will say this wasn’t Popes fault. I’d say if he hadn’t whiffed on every major target, we wouldn’t have needed Mitchell.
@UKCowboys your boy is taking some flak in here, he may need some covering fire.
We’re allowed to support our program but also think Pope isn’t the guy.
So is this just because Mitchell was from the SEC? How many great 5th years could UK have had that wasn’t from the SEC? It should have never gotten to this point. Mark Pope is a Bible salesman and today’s youth don’t want to play here.
I'm all for doing the right thing. Why does that offend you? The SEC has rules. Why does that bother you?
OMG. Just saw this. Talk about a kick to the balls. Wow is all I can say. Wow. I thought Missouri was full? Someone better look into how this is happening so neatly.
This is 100% on Pope. He whiffed on all his major targets and our only hope was an ineligible 5th year guy. UK shouldn’t have to scrounge for a top team.
Oh cool, the fan police. Everyone was hoping you guys would show up.
I understand Pope was just chasing another potential player, but the damn optics always end up so bad. Pope and UK, no doubt, put some money into this well. I just wish he win a Public Relations battle once during his time at UK.
Nothing to do with him being from the SEC just that he didn't enter the portal in the spring. Aberdeen is still eligible and gonna play, he entered the portal on time. However this is an example of interleague team switching that's allowed.
Please delete this troll now and get it over with.
Haha and just like that the idiots flock from the shadows
A Sweet 16 should never be the determining factor for a UK coach. That's basically 1 win against a team that can't play dead and 1 win versus an average team.
Ehh I don't think this was really his fault. He took his shot, didnt work, through no fault of his own it seems.. oh well.
On the other hand im so close to being done with this piece of sh*t sport its not even funny. Id rather watch my Jets let me down every week than give any viewership to ESPN/NCAA and the media members that are apart of this.

being a uk fan while mark pope hasnt been a lot of fun. and i dont think it will be much fun while he is here.
Why are you such a pushover? Why do you roll over for a group who hasn't enforced any rules the last half decade or longer?
And what makes it the right thing?
Don't you know, the integrity of the game hinges on a guy transferring in May instead of August even though he had no eligibility in May.
It is his fault he didn’t land an impact guy and had to take this chance though.
Move on to another double loss season.
Welp - kinda expected this - was fools gold to begin with
