Well, we made it to another football season so let’s see if someone can give a hot take that may prove true. I’ll start.

Mississippi State will win one of the October games.

Clemson beats LSU, and becomes the week 1 story du jour. We have to hear Dabo preach incessantly about how his program was built the right way and the talking heads will say you should build it on HS and not portal.

He will then promptly go 5-7 and will be pushed out.

Freshman qb for Clemson is a stud. Cannon arm, fullback with speed when running. Tait Reynolds.

Oklahoma State is going to be pretty good, 1-11 last year, 7-5 floor this year.

i like North Carolina coaching staff Petrino is still one of the best offensive minds around, can really evaluate talent. Belicek great on defense. Still a year away but they are stockpiling talent.

I could see Arnett getting the defense there, as that's about where his defenses were ranked as Leach's DC. To be top 3 in offense would mean that our O-line took a massive step forward from last year.
We were 8th in total offense last year without KT. I don't think it's a far reach to say we can get there. I agree the OL is going to have to take a step up this year.

Definitely should improve this year. As a gauge, last year Ole Miss was #3 in Offense and #9 on Defense, so ending #3 and #5, with our schedule, would probably mean coach of the year type accolades for Lebby!

We will be top 3 in total offense and top 6 in total defense in the league.
We were top 3 in 2015 at 460 ypg and that was with 4k passing yards.

interestingly enough at 441 ypg in 2021 we were only 8th in the league and again that was with 4000 passing yards.

I’m not sure KT eclipses 3000 yards passing this year. I think we are more likely to have a 2500-2500 season offensively, which is good but not near enough to be top 3.

last season Mizzou had 2400 passing and 2900 rushing which put them 2 spots ahead of us.

Point the thumb…
Seeing how golding has acted thus far, I am going to assume he will never point the thumb at himself. It will clearly be everyone else's fault when they lose the first couple of games this year.

My not so hot take is that after one of those inexplicable losses, St. Peter will cuss out a reporter in the postgamer presser.

This board may be at its absolute best during inevitable coaching carousels. I, for one, am ready for it and will be here for it, Lord willing, on or before November 1, 2026.

Not too hot of a take: All of this NFL player courtroom drama and uncertainty will cost LSU a game or two.
As crooked as the sec is, league office will have a few of the criminal officials give them the Arkansas/Petrino treatment we saw last year when they played us.

Another hot take: Indiana repeats as champion. Schedule is softer than Charmin and they have Ohio State at home. They beat Oregon in final.

I don't know anything about them, but I have to assume there is close to zero % chance that their QB this year is anything like Mendosa. That dude just willed them to victory.
