SEC is simply attempting to circumvent the court order Mitchell already received. Sankey is one underhanded, shady POS. Was already bad enough that he let UNCHEAT off the hook. **** that guy!
I think he's a UK hating, shady POS. The intraconference transfer rule wasn't a problem until UK got Mitchell. Either everyone can transfer within the conference or nobody can. You can't just make up rules as you go, like he did for UNC's cheating scandal. It was funny how the NCAA said they don't tell universities how to run their operations so they wouldn't have to punish UNC but they hammered Georgia basketball for the same thing under Jim Harrick. Their selective enforcement and being generally clueless and out of touch with the transfer portal and NIL era, makes me hopeful they will go out of business very soon.

I’ll never forget the day the ruling on the cheats came down. I had to turn it over to ESPIN to see what was being said. One guy was saying how there was zero reason for the cheats to go unpunished and that it was apparent that they had been cheating with their fake classes. Another guy just absolutely cut him off and said that it’s well known at the network that the analysts can’t say negative things about UNC. LMFAO WILD! Literally said it right on air.

Well at that time, the ESPN president was a UNC grad, so there ya go.

Oh yeah, I know. That was kinda my point lol Didn’t realize they had a different one now, however.

EDIT: So, to all those people who claim there isn’t a media bias and that we’re just being paranoid, are just flat out wrong.

It's not because UK, it's because of Kiffin and LSU, raiding NFL rosters for cut players.

Yeah there’s something very off about that. They added that stipulation about not having already entered the portal solely for Mitchell. He was one of the only ones if not THE only intraconference transfer that fit those conditions. Couldnt call him a pro because he never signed anything. So they had to come up with something else.

What’s it matter when he transferred if mizzou didn’t have a scholarship open for him anyways?

And they didn’t pass the 5/5 rule until after all the draft stuff.

Theres just so much wrong about the intraconference thing. Fine with intraconference transfers except for Mitchell. Hell they were fine with us poaching Aberdeen and Dioubate last year.

Now that handlogten fits that criteria as well, I expect Sankey to come up with something else so he can play for Ole Miss but still keep Mitchell from playing for us.

“If you didnt enter the portal in the early spring and your last name starts with an ‘M’”

I swear I hate the SEC with the white hot passion of 1000 suns.

According to the article on KSR the SEC can still assess the penalties. It says they can because they are not going after the player but the University for allowing it to happen. So do we want to risk that? I say no way.

It was aimed at Kiflin more than anything. Basketball is an afterthought in the SEC.

Anyone know if Mitchell still has his meeting with the SEC regarding his eligibility today? I remember seeing something about it being Monday morning

Hearing today at 10:45. "Mitchell’s legal team is asking Judge Brian Edwards to rule that the SEC is "acting in concert" with the NCAA. If the judge grants this, it means the SEC is bound by the same restrictions as the NCAA and cannot issue side-penalties."

"The goal is to insert bulletproof "Rule of Restitution" protection. His lawyers want language stating that the SEC cannot vacate Kentucky’s wins or penalize the program for putting Mitchell on the floor."

I’m a bit confused by the interest in Mitchell at this point. Isn’t he going back to where he came from?
