I’m going ahead and get this one started. It has to be game of the week. Two power teams that are 2-0. I can’t imagine this game not having a big crowd. Hough defeated Cardina Gibbons 35-10 and PD defeated Rolesville 34-0. Any thoughts with this one.

Hough by 21+. You can’t beat a team of every local team’s all star. It’s just the way it is. None of those kids grew up in Cornelius, or lived there a year ago. One WR lives in Concord right outside Harrisburg!

This game comes down to one thing: which team recruited better. Everyone knows how Providence Day and Hough...ahem...grow their talent. Having a game played between these two teams is appropriate.

100%, you think when they win the 8a they send rings to all the head coaches around Charlotte who worked with those kids summer after summer?

The recruiting thing isn’t going to change so at this point you just have to accept it. My gripe with these teams, and especially Hough is why don’t they schedule the teams that do the same thing on a national scale. I mean Buford will be playing right down the street on same day. WC will be traveling to Carrollton this season. Dutch Fork isn’t far away. Butler went down to #9 Langston Hughes and beat them a few years back. If you’re going to recruit multiple 4-5 stars on your team fine, who isn’t doing that these days? But these teams are playing each other. Where’s the sport in beating up on inferior teams every week? PD will easily be the best team Hough plays this year and I still think they have the talent advantage. They’ll easily cruise to another state championship, and coaches on social media will brag about sending an already established player to a big school.

Not a Hough Homer but they do play Green Run from VA. Hough did beat Highland Springs last year. Hough also beat Dutch Fork in 2023 and played Byrnes at least twice before they broke through.

Thats 1000% correct. Clearly they have the players and the funds. Go play big boys if you want to truly test your kids and coaches.
