Looks like my wife and I will not be attending any Penn State games.
Key Pricing Tiers (2027 Season)
  • Lowest Price: $550 (North upper deck corner)
  • East Side Lower Level (20-yard line): $1,140
  • West Side Lower Level (20-yard line): $2,375
  • New West Side "Drink Rails" (Standing room): $1,250 to $1,400 per spot
  • Premium Clubs: $4,700 (Marzano Club) to $4,900 (Schuyler Club)
  • Highest Premium Option: $8,379+ (North loge boxes)

Were you expecting them to drop prices while going thru a $700 million renovation? I’m surprised that many of the increases were as modest as they were (and that they are freezing increases for the loaded home schedule in 2028).

But I thought the renovations was going to be paid for with:

- Giant piles of $ from the new "premium" seats
- The revenue-generating wizardry of PK
- The "special" guaranteed revenue deal with Elevate
- Gigantic piles of "philanthropy"

And that existing ticket holders would only see typical "modest" increases (2%/ yr) in the price of their tickets.

Oops?

If you are on board good for you! what about the other 100,000 people. Wasnt worth 700 million. who cares about the press boxes when people are sitting on metal benches. Reality is attendance will go down unless upgraded roster

If the metal bleachers bother you, they gave more options now to get out of them. There was a lot in this renovation that had been kicked down the road for too long, and finally needed to be completed.

I believe the ticket prices are now all in and include the NLC donations and fees.

The price comparisons listed - by several folks - are apples-to-apples (ie, both are listed as "tickets+annual "donation")

The one cost that is not listed, is the additional "one time donation" for the non-premium (not clubs and suites) that now are what is left of the lower west bowl. I believe those are $2,500 per seat, IIRC - but don't take that as gospel.


In any event, it is what it is. People can and will react how they want - though it would be nice if (for once?) folks at PSU had been forthright up front - and not peddled the nonsense they did about how the $700 Million (or more?) costs would be paid for.
Having folks who got nothing in return (in fact, about the only return they will get is that their parking costs will go up, for far worse accommodations) - and now are paying 10-15% or more MORE for their same seats (some more than double) wasn't what was peddled. And that seems really ******, IMO. Of course, some folks (well, at least one folk :) ) let people know what was actually going to take place. But c'est la vie.

Any insight as to what we can expect regarding parking for next year?
I'm a long-time Lot 41 Reserved "customer". I'm in the 600 row, and want to add a 2nd parking spot next season, and want to stay close to this location.
Is there any hope for me and my fellow ilk to do that?!

Who knows? I doubt if they even have the specifics "mapped out" (though they may).

But, for sure, more and more of the close parking will be SOL for you and your "ilk", unless you are buying clubs/suites.

IIRC, "41" is just behind the South End Zone - but that is OTTOMH.... and those are pretty high demand spots, and paved.
If that is correct, I would expect you may be lucky to keep the one you have.

Why would I expect that?
1) A whole bunch of "premium" parking is now going to be allocated to the new Club/Suite holders
AND
2) A bunch of close parking is also going to "corporate" tailgate providers as well. (Folks who set up tailgates for you - and PSU gets a cut)
AND
3) A bunch more was lost with the "Bubble" (which was placed in the dumbest spot on campus for it, but that's another story)
AND
The new Club/Suite folks? They prefer paved parking. So, look around - other close parking (like behind the North Endzone) is grass - as well as the stuff just to the east of the stadium (aside from the bit of paved over there that is already for "premium" folks).

I would expect that paved lot behind the south end zone, and of course the paved area just to the west - nearest the new club/suites entrances - has a good chance to be "Priority 1" for takeover for the new club/suites folks. But that is just my ciphering based on "looking around" at the options.
Which means anyone in there now either gets pushed back -if they are lucky - or pushed out (if not so lucky, or unwilling to pay more).

I assume you haven't heard anything from PSU regarding the future of your current parking?

Yes, Lot 41 is just across Curtin Road.
No, have not heard anything from PSU about next year's parking.
I hope to hold the line, but rather expect to be pushed back in 41. Being pushed out of 41 would be... not ideal.

Regardless, I'm pretty sure that unless something drastic changes, I'm in through at least 2028. I want to go along for the Campbell ride in person, at least the first few seasons.

I believe the seating chart mentions:
the fees $15 +/- and the seat contributions are included in the 2027 ticket prices.
  1. The parking is not included
  2. The parking contribution is not included

After twenty some years, paying for a reserved rv spot in the green lot. I tossed in the towel, for ten of those years I attended QB club. In retrospect, I often wonder if the events that have happened were the result of some clandestine operation to rid the school of the "coach".
I often ponder if it was not for the"coach" could any of this have happened. But it is spilt milk and alas. I dont believe such a conspiracy could have happened, With so many players involved

The good news for many fans that want to only attend a couple of games is you will be able to find many tickets on the secondary market for well under list price. Yes, the White Out may be tough but every other game will be wide open.

They screwed up overbuilding this monstrosity of a stadium. Even the premium club seat owners are going to stay home for the Rutgers and Minnesota games and it is doubtful all of those seats will be sold anyway.

Parking was always separate from tickets and included additional fees if you wanted reserved or preferred. Why would this season be different.

I believe we are talking about the 2027 season, not this season and there are certainly many changes happening for the 2027 season tickets.

I was clarifying for persons that never purchased season tickets that parking is not included. Parking contributions are also part of the NLC’s annual giving structure.

My opinion for what it’s worth- long time friends have had 4 season tickets since around 1980 will not renew in 2027. Their price went up by 60%. This family loves the university and has given to the university yearly. They were instrumental in encouraging me to go to PSU. They are done. I don’t blame them. It’s the sad reality of what all this is now. I see middle class PA families looking at PSU as a college that is not affordable for them now. 3 kids I know who have 2 professional parents have chosen to go to South for school because they got more aid and it’s more affordable. All of this makes me sad. PA tax paying residents at least in my area have a hard time justifying the cost to go here even when it was their dream school. I hope I dont take a lot of heat for this post. I love PSU. My family loves PSU. I’m speaking sincerely.

Reserved parking will be interesting for sure. I've thought about trying to get a couple car spaces together in Lot 41 or Lot 18. The problem I'd encounter would be all the reserved passes which are included with some of the new west side seating options. Many will be moving over from the east side. They'd likely get the first pick of available spaces in those lots which won't leave much for people selecting later. IMO, nobody currently in a reserved lot will be forced to give up their space as long as they pay whatever to price is set at.

For next year there will be a huge number of people considering a move of seating and/or parking locations since everything has been frozen for the past couple years.

I remember working behind the counter at PGA National when the Champion Course greens fees went to $100 + cart fee ($12). At the time, only Pebble was more expensive.

We'd have people refuse to pay that much and there would be guys behind them waiting, hoping to pay that much - and take their tee time. Play on the Champ never went down or changed. The clientele did though.

I wouldn't be surprised to see reserved parking increase from $1,000 to $2,500 by 2028 or 2029 to accommodate the west side club seats.

I mentioned in another post, I paid $2,000 for reserved parking up until a few years ago.

They sort of lost me by not expanding the ORV lot and then making it completely cost prohibitive. You would think they would WANT people there for 3.5 days spending money.

Check this year’s invoice and the total price includes parking and they break down the cost of it per game. Unless reserved parking is handled differently. We are in Lot 34.

Our 2027 season ticket prices did not include $192 parking & the $1,000 parking contribution.

In a previous post I mentioned:
"I wouldn't be surprised to see reserved parking increase from $1,000 to $2,500 by 2028 or 2029 to accommodate the west side club seats."

Years ago, I requested H.C. parking near the stadium, they gave me a choice of 4-stalls along Curtin.

That’s because you get “reserved parking”.
We park in the lots of the unclean, labeled: General Parking. 🤣🤣🤣

All in pricing means the ticket price also includes your NLC donation and all fees per seat.

It was a 'catch 22' for Kar and me. In 2000 due to the south expansion, we had 6 tickets in the new south up high seats. Two in row AA & 4 in SHU, four of our grandkids were old enough to attend the games. by around 2010 our oldest grandkids were off to college, some were playing HS sports, etc. so we didn't need the 1/2 dozen seats. We did have parking in LOT-41 at the time.

I believe in 2010/2011 I got two H.C. seating in section EE. Decided to cut the costs of reserved parking and take advantage of the H.C. parking (paying season parking price) in the grass field near the IM building, we were provided the long cart trains to the west side of the stadium. Then the school announced H.C. parking could no longer be provided on grass, needed pavement (ADA), then IIRC, the new location of H.C. parking was to be at Innovation Park with the plan being school bussed about two miles from the park to the stadium and had to board the busses immediately after the game for the trip back.

It was difficult for my wife to walk from the shuttle drop-off point on the west side to traverse around the stadium to the east side. Called the ADA office and requested reserve H.C. parking and they gave us regular reserved parking along Curtin Road near the student entrance. I assume in one or two years the AD dept. will require a huge donation to keep our parking or allow the west club members additional parking adjacent to the stadium.

Currently, I keep in place for my family to enjoy, my bride can no longer attend games.

Prosco,
I give one NLC donation for reserved parking + $192 for season parking.

I believe the parking donation is tax deductible, but seat contributions aren't.

I give another NCL seat Contribution + fees

The all in pricing I mentioned was for tickets only. Parking will probably remain same with additional donation required to purchase reserved or preferred parking.

I don't believe additional donation is/was required for general admin parking.
