So now Big East can " get over" with talent.
I'm glad they made this decision now these ******* and these other conferences have to think twice about what they're doing.....
For basketball anyway.
Funneling talent straight to Connecticut.
The SEC better remember that it's about winning national championships not anything that has to do with interconference.
It's been 14 years since Kentucky fans have won a championship and you want to mess with them in that situation over one little player?
I mean go for it but be advised Donald Trump loves Kentucky.

Yeah if offends our sensibilities having professionals being paid elsewhere before coming to college to be paid. They are already pros now, so this is nothing but virtue signaling and make believe that these are Collegiate amateurs. Why handicap your conference against other conferences that will not?
A lot of of these guys aren’t gonna fight they’re gonna go to the big east where they’re eligible right away and don’t have to fight
The argument is that now there is a competitive advantage for the Big East.
This is honestly a great opportunity for the MAC and The sunbelt and schools like that to get some of these guys
If there is not unifying legislation soon this whole thing is going to blow up and college athletics will take a long time to recover.
I don't understand how this helps the MAC or the Sunbelt at all. If Coastal Carolina has $15-$20M to spend on a basketball roster it would make a difference but they are not a player for big time recruits because of money not this "pro" rule. It does however help the Big East as many of their schools have money and now a competitive advantage.
Should help some teams since they appear to want to be a 1 bid league because there will be people in the committee that wouldn't let an undefeated team in.

Problem is, for the most part, they can’t pay what the power schools pay. I can’t imagine a court saying Mitchell can’t get $4 million from UK because of a lame SEC rule but he can play in the BE for $1 million.
Yeah, that happened last night. They told Kentucky, “don’t worry”. Texas doesn’t play.
I’ve been saying this. The SEC is pissed at Kiffin/LSU.
I’m just worried the courts will say, well you can play in the BE. It would be a BS ruling but that’s what I fear. I was hoping all the conferences adopted the same rule so it would all be unfair. If that makes sense.
They want this imho. They want to pressure Congress to pass that Act. It needs to be done or else there needs to be collective bargaining. Anything else leads to this **** show. They should have just let this class be eligible and stopped this nonsense on this topic.

Schools don't want collective bargaining because the athletes would be considered employees.
I doubt so now at this point. Can’t a lot of teams have that kind of money and that’s 2 schools out of how many? Plus, not sure on their roster but they might not be able to add anyone either.

I do have some sympathy for the high schooler looking for a scholarship. This is really concerning for football since many are simply not ready to compete with 23-24 or older.
I don't believe all conferences have weighed in. Did I state there were other conferences following the Big East's lead in openly declaring it?
