I know before 2025 there was high hopes for Blue- Eli, but unfortunately missed the season with injury. I see he is still listed on the roster but the Rutgers Rant Podcast with Politi didnt even mention him when they discussed the Defensive line. Haven't heard anything about him elsewhere. Anyone know if he is still in the mix? I was hoping for him to play a big role this year

I think most are expecting him to start opposite Angoy at DT...and with greater depth in 2026 there will be more guys rotating in on the line.

I have no inside information, from some of the information I’ve read and heard on podcasts , he will be in the starting rotation. On the BTN camp report, there was a video clip of Blue-Eli going at it with Asamoah (who is the top OL).
As mentioned by the guys on TKR, I think Greg is underplaying his D so that teams underestimate them early in the season. I'd bet that DBE is one of those guys being underplayed on purpose.

Even Jake Butt and the BTN crew were sounding the alarm on last year's D. This year they all came out and said, it's going to be better, how much better we'll have to see.
I said it last year, just getting guys on the same page, where to line up, knowing their assignments, would have done wonders. Most said that it was talent, it wasn't. Especially, when you have FCS defenses who can perform better, that's all coaching.
If you're relying on chrome dome for info, then there's your problem with getting quality info. If you were aware of it late, NJ liars.com has been out of the loop for some time. That's why most of their articles are hit pieces. When you can't be trusted, what else can you do?

Absolutely correct. Communication was a huge issue, between players and coaches, coaches and coaches, and on the field.
LOL.... I don't listen regularly, but I'm thirsting for info on the Camp so have been listening the past couple weeks to see if there was any tidbits of info.. This example of the DBE omission during their D-Line discussion probably is a good reason to not go back to them again.
And thanks to those others above who chimed in with some info on his participation, That's good news to hear.

You will get much better and granular information from (1) The Knight Report Podcasts starting @Richie O , @Alec Crouthamel and Mike B; (2) Big Ten Huddle Podcasts; (3) Rutgers Realm starring Dave Anderson and (4) Aaaron Breitman's podcasts.
One of those podcasts was playing in the background and it rolled into the Politi/Fonseca podcast, and I had to shut it off.
While he may be underplaying the D, I don’t really see the point. In our first 5 games, we have 3 cupcakes where it shouldn’t matter, and then 2 games against high powered, dynamic offenses who aren’t going to care what we do. USC will carve us up with deep passes all over the field, and Indiana will maul and bully us up and down the field with their deeply experienced OL.

Maybe it's time. The NJ.com RU Football app was free and let me read Rutgers Sports articles for the past 4 or 5 years without paying a subscription or fee, but they just killed that app about a week ago. So it's either pay NJ.com, which I will never do for anything, pay for TKR, or try to glean anything I can off the free boards.
