West Forsyth gave Grimsley all they could handle before Freshman QB Brody Lowe took over in the 4th quarter last year.

One Year Later, This 2026 game has two fantastic Sophomore QB’s as West Forsyth has developed Levi Morales into a passing game weapon they haven’t had in quite sometime. Usually, a run oriented team; West Forsyth is different this year and they have major weapons at the skilled positions.

The West passing game features the best trio of WR’s in the state and I’ll die on that hill…. These 3 guys are all headed to college; make that 4 guys as the TE was just offered. Starts with Speedster 5’10 Braylen Marrow is headed to NCCU, then 6’4 200lb Junior WR Tylan Grimes can go where ever he wants with double digit offers and high interest from NC State and Joker Phillips, finish off with Senior 6’1 speedster Jailyn Moore(Had 4 TD’s vs Davie) has multiple offers including high interest from NC State and Joker Philips. Throw in big 6’2 220lb TE Cooper Chambers who just got his first offer by UNCC and you have a serious passing attack. QB Levi Morales completed 24 of 32 passes for 326yds and still had 5 dropped passes. He is very accurate and seems very poised in the pocket.

The West running game isn’t gone, it’s led by the big guy who was around 100yds vs Davie, Zayden Hairston will be the power RB that should wear down teams in the 4th quarter.

Now, Grimsley is going to bring pressure on a totally different level than Davie County….West knows this and the young QB will have to negotiate the pocket. The OLine is going to see a much better defensive front.

The West “Defense” strength is their secondary but they had two long TD’s scored on them(both by Noah Dulin a D-1 prospect with multiple offers) because of assignment issues. I expect that to be fixed with Joziah Nicholson(Missouri), Daniel Bunker(Citadel) and Braylen Marrow(NCCU) patrolling the secondary against Grimsley. They know what happened last year with Brody Lowe torching the West secondary In the 4th quarter.

Grimsley is just a great program built by Coach Brown, there is no weakness again. I could probably write a book on their talented team.

Hopefully, it’s a close game like last year. Grimsley will be the favorite but West Forsyth can hang and they know that.

Remember, it was West Forsyth who gave Hough their closest game in the entire State Playoffs last year losing in the Final 4 of the western playoffs.

Just got word that this game has (15) D-1 prospects and 6 signed commitments…. That’s a lot of good players. BTW, Congrats to Faizon Brandon getting that Starting QB job at Tennessee as a true Freshman.

Grimsley wins. West is a very good and consistent program. But they always fall short in the big moments against Grimsley and the more elite Charlotte teams. They just can't find that next level in Clemmons.
That just means they are due…lol, they don’t “always” lose to Charlotte teams, they took out Mallard Creek last year in the playoffs at Mallard Creek.

I do agree that “always” can apply to State Titles.…been to the state finals but never won a Title… They were close to beating Grimsley last year and led Hough in the 2nd quarter but this isn’t horseshoes. At least they know they can hang with elite programs.

This game won't be as close as last years version. I think Grimsley's defense will set the tone early and will probably win by a few TDs. Unless WF gets extremely lucky again with a whirlie QB injury. Big doubt that happens.

Just a refresher for you- Grimsley played West Forsyth... AWAY last year and played W. Charlotte... AWAY last year as well. RPI determines who travels come playoff time ,so if Grimsley has home field advantage in the playoffs what does that tell you? State championships are not played in Jamieson Stadium.

West Forsyth is bullying Grimsley at the line of scrimmage on the opening drive 3-0 …Soph QB Levi Morales is balling! West running the ball on Grimsley burning 7 minutes.!

Halftime: Grimsley 32-3 …. just killing West on the big play with 3 long TD’s …West is getting so many 3rd down penalties… game is over… Grimsley is now dominating the line of scrimmage(a Clinic). I really like Grimsley’s team…they are really good. #3Peat

West Forsyth had a really impressive run-pass mix early on. Whirlies made big plays on offense and defense played better as game progressed.

Shocked by WF decision to go wildcat on 4th down deep in their own territory at the end of the first half instead of punting. Gifted Grimsley a TD. West has a lot of potential

Again, WF showing that while they are a good program, they can't hang with the elites like Grimsley and the better Charlotte area teams.
