really cool, hope people appreciate KF

Big time interview, here.

Captain Kirk truly a gifted and thoughtful navigator.

Thoughts from KF:
- alluded to attrition/pandemic dynamic at o-line a few years ago. And how the rebuild required a lot of patience.
- rather than valuing creativity, KF stresses mastering the basics and fundamentals
- guard against bitching and boredom
- alluded to the value of letting his staff do their jobs.

Thoughts from Aaron Taylor:
- why have so many, to their own detriment, gotten away from the basics of blocking, tackling, and moving people off their spots?
- stresses mastering the basics and fundamentals.

Folks, we are blessed to have had this man

Thanks for posting, '85

I watched it, good interview. Loved hearing Kirk talk about getting earholed. I remember seeing stars when that happened to me.
At the end of one of our practices my senior year in HS we were just messing around and so I wanted to jump over from my inside LB position to the offense and lineup as the fullback for a play. The play was a simple handoff to the tailback right through the 2 hole, and I was to lead block. As we snapped the ball the other inside LB, who was 6'3 235 and the hardest hitter on the team, stepped up into that hole as I ran up to lead block. To this day I don't remember anything about the actual hit. Didn't see stars, don't remember feeling anything, nothing. I just remember opening my eyes and I was on my back 2 yards behind the line of scrimmage in the offensive backfield. Lol.

Great interview w KF. You can tell those two really like and respect one another.

Taylor played at Notre Dame and he like KF had Joe Moore as a mentor. He's been a big supporter of the Joe Moore award.
