Expecting us to dominate on the field without as much NIL support as the top teams is insane. What do you expect our AD to do in this world of CFB? I mean come on man. Our fan base wants incredible results and for us to do it on a shoe string budget. Makes sense. :cautious:

We have to spend on staff and facilities. We also have to spend on players - more than we are now.

Bunch of financial geniuses on this board that apparently are very familiar with running a multi-million dollar organization.
Lots of people in here have ran very successful athletic programs on XBox and PlayStation

Ick, bud.
Aaaand he’s back … with a liberal pinup girl Kathy Griffin reference … what a way to announce your word means nothing.

I expect to go 3-30 against top 25 teams...that is it. We still haven't reached those heights.

DRIVING DONATIONS
Nebraska Athletics brought in a school-record $71.66 million in
donations in 2025-26, surpassing the previous mark of $71.29
million in 2024-25. Nearly 17,000 donors pushed support of the
Big Red to an all-time high. The donations helped the Huskers to
their best Learfield Directors’ Cup finish since 2001.

This is from Dannen's annual report today, he got 71 million in donations and 78 million from the Big Ten yet we're still poor and can't field a ranked team. Not including ticket and merch sales also. 🤔

The fact it barely beat the previous year is genuinely concerning.

But didn't Matt say last year we had everything we needed NIL wise to get the BEST players? One publication had zero NU portal guys in their top 100. So either we over paid, misjudged, or Matt was giving us a line of BS. 9 months later, and now they need more. NIL is important. I get that. But so is your ability to evaluate portal players, and develop the recruits you have. When you bring in 17 portal guys, your not developing anybody.

Used car salesmen never lie

we are a developmental program that relies on transfers

Penn State is a good example. Usually ranks 20-25 in NIL (just above us in spending) and has been consistently a top 10 team. Coaching matters.
And Penn State if that number is accurate could actually say they maximized the talent they had. 2024 getting to the final 4 of the playoffs.
