This is a good thing, if they do it right. The interlocking should absolutely be on the helmet and merch..... but no where else.

But in true Miss Stake fashion we will paint it at midfield and take the banner M-State off the side of the stadium and replace it with interlocking. Wouldn't be surprised if they attempt to make it the official school logo.

If only what he says in the video was actually true today. It certainly was true when he played, but not any more.

"Don't wear it for what we did, wear it for what you will become" Sorry Wayne, they aren't even thinking about what you and others did, don't have a clue and don't give a damn about finding out. Just looking for the next check

Iโ€™m actually with you on this one. I do find it somewhat humorous that we have the banner M on the stadium, &tate on the field, and interlocking on the helmets. Just need to put the flying M somewhere.

We simply do not understand branding.

&tate is actually fine too, but it should be contained to merch, baseball jersey and maybe a basketball jersey. But again in true Miss Stake fashion, we try to make it the face of the university.

Because the banner M is the official logo of the university and has been for 30 years. It actually has recognition across the country, which is most of our lame brain fanbase does not realize.

Nobody says it has to be on a helmet.

Nobody says it has to be in a prominent place on any uniform.

But it should be prominently displayed on the stadiums, fields and courts. It's the overarching emblem of the school.

Very, VERY, well done......and, I think a very good decision by the athletic admin and others.

Just as baseball has the M over S, this works just as well for football

Just don't care for the interlocking. Looks dated and straight out of the 80s, in the same way the flying M looks dated. I don't mind hauling them out every once in a while as nostalgia pieces, but using either one of them permanently is nuts to me. Might as well make a 1984 Chrysler LeBaron our official university car.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think the banner M is a world beater straight from Sterling Cooper, but at least it looks generically modern and has been circulating for a while now. Feels like we've suddenly decided to change logos every 30 minutes and are bringing everything out of retirement to do it. I bet we'll have Walking Bully on the 50 yard line before the season's over.

I donโ€™t think youโ€™ll see the same level of clamoring for the banner as you have for the interlocking. The decision to go away from it under Croom and put that banner on the white helmets was unpopular from Day 1. I can still think of people yelling โ€œGO BACK TO MAROON HELMETSโ€ as we were getting destroyed by LSU for the 8th year in a row, as if thatโ€™s all we needed to do to fix our problems. lol.

I also donโ€™t know that the fuss wouldโ€™ve been as much if our fans didnโ€™t feel like they were lied to about it all. The whole โ€œNike owns the logoโ€ myth that festered for 20 years.

It also didnโ€™t help the bannerโ€™s longevity that we kept tinkering with it every year.

I grew up with the Mullen-era Banner M. I like the script and wasn't initially a fan of the interlocking, even when we wore it in 2023. After last year, I am sold. That is an awesome logo.

I don't think you realize that it actually does have the longevity you say it doesn't. Yeah, the banner from 1996 to 2008 was awful. But at that point, it was 12 years old, then Byrne and Co spent a lot of money modernizing it. They could have scraped it, but they didn't, they knew better. They made it the official university logo. And it should stay that way, because it's recognized.

Interlocking and &tate are not recognized anywhere, which is why we need to keep the Banner M-State as the main logo. However, they are fine for the helmet, a jersey here or there, and merch.
