NCAAT selection committee member says the quiet part out loud

I think schools like Kentucky should call their bluff and play the 5th year guys regardless. It's time to completely castrate the last counters of the NCAA. Pope just needs to push forward and do what he has to do. Don't back down. I mean, the NCAA still loves that cash flown, and bumping Kentucky from a 2 seed to a 4 seed out of spite isn't something I'd care much about if Mitchell is on the court.

LOL. CBS then faxes the seeding committee a copy of the $8.8 billion contract to televise the tournament, and a break-out of viewership for Kentucky games, and tells them, "you want to penalize someone? You don't know the meaning of the word until we start broadcasting full time that the NCAA seeding committee was unfair. You think you are hated and impotent now..."

This is all Jeff Goodman click bait. And the NCAA is a Paper Tiger.

Kentucky = ratings and $$ They wouldn't leave them out nor any blue blood equivalent lol. Teams will call their stupid bluff all day.
I don't think anyone believes the NCAA will leave us out. But, what a giant red flag, when you have members of the NCAAT selection team, openly saying, they'd be down to screw over teams because of personal opinions/bias. Those crazy UK fans don't sound so crazy anymore. I mean, look at what happened in 2014. We got 35-0 Wichita state in the 2nd round.

Seems like a good way to accelerate the process of the SEC and B10 breaking away from the NCAA.

Not sure how “openly” it is without an actual name connected to the quote.

it’s kinda funny how folks are skeptical of “anonymous” sourcing for things they don’t want to believe, but then will take it as gospel for other things.

I feel like that is just tough talk. Sounds like the NCAA would be skirting the rulings with some BS. Would be challenged and likely shot down again.

There's really no need for a committee .........at all.

Sure if we went by computer metrics ppl would still complain but at least it's transparent to teams on what they need to do and why they did/didn't make it or get the seed they got.

Not surprising to hear. UK has been incorrectly seeded on numerous occasions, especially under Calipari. But, it's pretty bold to say that publicly. Now, every seed line is going to be under a microscope as potential retribution for a perceived transgression.
