CBS (Parrish) lifts Kentucky after Mitchell...

12 is fair. We have a totally new team that will take time to figure team chemistry out. Also where people see a great addition in Mitchell, there are players who will lose time to him that probably don’t agree. We need to trim down to an 8 man rotation that means good players may be left out. Having 15 guys who can play on the roster is going to be a challenge to pope. He recruited our team wo having Momi or Mitchell. They may not have even been a thought. Last year we had big time chemistry problems. How pope deals with this team, pt and playing at all will be the make or break. Our guards are going to have to play a lot of minutes so that means 3-5 there will be a glut of players vying for PT.

I think he will be fine as a 5th option, scoring somewhere in the 10 to 11 points/game range. If he hits 35%+ on his threes and shows discipline on defense, I think that's all UK will need from him with Mitchell, Milan, and Diallo getting the lion's share of the scoring.

Agreed, if he's counted on to be the 4th or 5th option on offense, I'm good. It's when people start touting him as the best player and leading scorer that get me a little squirmy. Hopefully he develops into that, but man...it needs to be because he's become that good and not just because he's the best we have.

Pre season polls give a lot of credence to recent history. There are so many unknowns, so returning players and recent success is really the only thing to go on. Given Kentucky's last two years with Pope, there are a lot people who are simply going to have to see it before they give him any lofty expectations. Honestly, as life long fan, I feel the same way. Time to nut up or shut up.

Up to 12...When I look at some of the prospective line-ups ahead in the rankings, this really feels like the floor, not the ceiling. Factored in is probably the legal uncertainty. But I think as long as Mitchell's status holds up, the rankings are going to keep rising, into the Top Ten. There are no way ten teams have three players that match Momcilovic, Mitchell and Moreno. And the guards are solid, especially with Mason Williams looking like a solid back-up. The Cats have a lot of ways to beat teams, with Mitchell capable of taking over games and erasing a poor shooting night.

I love lots of things about this roster. But I expect defense and turnovers to be weaknesses. And Momcilovic, Mitchell and Moreno is a less than average rebounding front line . We need Kepnang to stay healthy.

So in other words they think pope stinks as a head coach
