Was AB held out tonight for precaution on back to back games and is she expected to be back in 5 days? Or is it more serious? I missed all of the first quarter and the beginning of the 2nd. I didn't realize that she wasn't on the court until he start to the 2nd half.
It was the same "lower leg injury" she's had since before the season even started. Yes, it was just a rest day.

And they are 4-0 when she doesn't play.

So which is better for the Fever:
CC playing and scoring 30+?
CC not playing?
You're such an idiot. Do keep throwing out misleading nonsensical stats though. Like anyone could watch her play the last 15 games and think they're better if she doesn't play. I mean have the Fever not played better the last 15 games then the first 15 when she missed ALOT of time with her back injury?

I love her. It just seemed liked she dribbled around forever and threw up prayers more often than normal this game.
No, its not more then normal. She goes on heaters, especially in the second half of games. Still you'd have to be blind not to see there are still times in games where she goes one on 4 in the lane and throws up some crazy shot when there is a wide open three point shooter in the corner.

She got matched up on Cardoso outside at one point in the 2nd half, and instead of crossing her up and creating an easy jumpshot, she dribbled for a half hour and then chose to drive on Cardoso while not really creating any separation and ended up not even look at the hoop on the now-contested layup she was attempting...........................

It was something to watch, indeed.

For as hot as she can get scoring the ball, part of the drawback to her "unconscious" style of play in general is that there will also be plays where it looks like the lights aren't on at all.

Lolol... and how many games has MHA done absolutely nothing? Russell gives them some size on defense they don't have on the roster and she was a key player just a few years ago on a couple of championship teams.

A key player on their 2018 title team?

She averaged 1.6 PPG and scored just 35 points for them the entire season and played in just 1 of their 10 playoff games.

In 2020 she played less than 14 MPG, scored less than 4 PPG, averaged less than 4 RPG and shot 41% from the field.

Key player!!!

There is a reason the was waived in July of last year and no one picked her up until recently.

She gave them some good minutes today for her first extended play in more then a year. I'd take her and her size over MHA anytime. We'll need a few minutes from her on the boards and defense in the playoffs. Give her some run now to get ready.
Outside of the obvious conditioning issues, they just really need to work with her on getting her into the right spots to succeed in the paint.

That's where they need her most.

White doesn't like bigs clogging the lane, so that takes a sluggish player like Russell out of O rebound opportunities, and she isn't quick enough to fill in off of drives from CC and KM, but she can provide rim protection and rebounding that this team is lacking if they continue to work with her on her recognition, positioning and communication in help defense.

Her biggest issue that I saw tonight was just simple positioning. It's an easier said than done fix, but it's also about recognizing matchups and tendencies about when to stick closer to off ball matchups and when it's okay to sag in the lane for help and in anticipation of shots to be an inside presence for rebounds.

Wasn't talking about her rookie year/ Her years with Seattle she was a regular starter several of those years, her best in 2021 she averaged 7 an 6. Not great numbers but she has size. Your right though. Lets just keep running HInes Allen out there and watching her clank threes and run over people.

And will they get her ready for a playoff run if she doesn't play in games or should they just keep running MHA out there.

Cloud is an angry idiot
Maybe I haven't paid enough attention to Chicago Sky games, but she seemed way more animated today than usual.

From the crying to the refs to ignore her arm bars and call Caitlin for grabbing her arms while she's arm-barring Caitlin to prevent her from having freedom of movement (@Legend12) to her crashing out at Enes Kant-her, she just really seemed to be amped up about things in this game...............

She’s been a hot head/outspoken for a long time. It’s one of the main reasons teams didn’t want to sign her this last offseason.

There is zero chance Minnesota will coast in their final two games, even if the Fever get locked into a seed and choose to themselves.........

They will even intentionally go out of their way to try to feature Miles as much as they can in these upcoming matchups with the Fever just to prove a point.

Why are you triggered by Mercedes Russell?

Is she not good enough for your version of the Fever?

😉

What I and others wonder about is, why does she have such a low sounding voice? Why so aggressive? Why does Griner have such a low sounding voice? Kind of like things that go "Bump in the dark." I will not use the "S" word, doggonit. I refuse to do that.

Russell is fine…she’ll be exactly what she is…tall and not very good. She’ll have her moments but there is a reason no one in the league signed her for almost a year. I’m more laughing at KC because he posts like he has some insight into her game when everyone knows he had never heard of her before she signed with the Fever. Just surprised he didn’t use his new buzzword “gravity” when talking about her.

Nice to see our dumbas$ coach allowing Caitlin be Caitlin. Hopefully White gets out of her own way the rest of the season and lets the best player in the league be the best player in the league. I'm skeptical but we'll see.

Side note -> Carrington is a complete horse's ***. She may be the most unlikeable professional athlete I've come across since Aaron Rodgers/LeBron James. And that's saying something in a league with Angel Reese

Hmmm. Thanks for your reference to me and your supposed knowing what "everyone " knows. As usual "the Legend" the narcissist.

Oh, we're all STILL waiting for all the "stuff Clark gets away with" . You know, your comment from a couple of weeks ago....

But, but, but, the turnovers.
Everyone bitches about her turnovers. She finished with 10 assists and 5 turnovers.

The point guard on the other team, Cloud, finished with 7 assists and 4 turnovers. Yet not a peep complaining about her.

Plus, as has been repeated ad nauseum on here, many of her turnovers are the result of her teammates’ bad hands. At least 2 passes last night hit her teammates in the hands and they didn’t catch them. If just one of those on average per game gets eliminated, the story would be very different. 3.6/game instead of the current 4.6. Plus if one more missed layup per game gets converted she’s at 9.3 assists per game. Those numbers would be epic to go with her scoring.

While Sky certainly aren't an elite team, tonite's game proves Boston can be upgraded on.

Trade her while she still has a little value.
Boston isn’t a problem. It is the coach’s use of her. She’s taking almost 3 3pt attempts per game this season. She should be taking at most 1 per game to keep the defense on her honest, but other than that should be running pick and roll and grabbing offensive rebounds. Her offensive rebounding numbers and FG% are down and her turnovers are up because of the way that White is trying to use her this season. All of those are career worst numbers for her.

Keep her down low and let Clark cook on offense. Clark will get hers but she will also get KM and Boston theirs.

I will agree though, her contract is overpaying for her by probably 10%. Especially if she can’t get and stay healthy because of an injury in her “offseason league”.

Keeping her with White's strategy isn't a recipe for long term success, imo.

My point then becomes...SW or AB???

She's shooting almost 42% from 3...if anything she should be taking more.

Because when Miles has 20 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds in a game, it’s considered one of the greatest games a PG ever had…when Clark does that, it’s considered commonplace and also a down night for her. Clark has made the extraordinary look ordinary and that’s going to hurt her in any MVP race.
