Technically he is right if he means worst SEC record through 2 years:

Billy G 20-12
Pope 20-16
Cal 24-8
Tubby 25-7
Sutton 27-9
Hall 23-13
Pitino 24-

Pope 20-16
Cal 24-8
Tubby 25-7
Sutton 27-9

Rupp 19-0
Then technically he should amend his statement😂or he’s still wrong

What's the point in guessing really? Brand new roster, a very good one. Enjoy the ride.

All I know is that Pope better finish top 3 in the SEC and get to an E8 minimum. The record to get there, whatever. This team should club Calipari like baby seals. To me, it's on par with Texas in terms of overall ability, although I think better balanced. I think a big dictator of upside will be how big a leap Wilkins makes.

This is a lot of mouths to feed is my fear. How is that chemistry going to work? I mean, you could legitimately have 5 alphas in this bunch. Moreno wants to get to the NBA, Mitchell has played that alpha role, Milan & Wilkins have been primary scorers.

So you think there are 7 better teams in the sec?
I know what your trying to do and say set low expectations so you don’t hurt yourself but your being genuinely obtuse and stupid to say 22-10 is the expectation
Repeating ... I've not seen us play yet. I think we will be good in a very tough conference. It is not unreasonable to expect conference losses, based on the pre-season rankings I've seen. Mitchell changes things, for sure, and I hope DRAMATICALLY !! But, only five (5) can play at a time and it will be interesting to see how Pope distributes minutes without slippage, especially against the best of teams. I will repeat myself and say that I am unsure about how our defense and rebounding will hold up against the best teams (especially physical ones) on our certain off-shooting nights. As I stated in another thread, if this group can play the kind of active defense that LaFamilia played in most of their games ... we can be REALLY GOOD !!

As I review the personnel and assess them, I have a sense (and have posted here previously) that our better defenders & rebounders are not our best scorers and those most here do not have them in our starting five, including me. The distribution of minutes and how well Diallo, Wilkins, Moncilovic, Mitchell and Moreno can rebound, defend and play physically, in my view, is the ABSOLUTE KEY to how well we do. If that starting group can rebound and defend hard ... I think my prediction will be way short of actual results .... and a 5-7 loss season is far more probable. Right now, I just do not know, as I have not seen them play a few games. These predictions, by ALL of us, are just GUESSES right now ... and we all know it. What we can agree on is that we hope we can be good and balanced enough to make a serious run this year. Finding out is why we watch the games ... GO CATS !!

Don’t forget NBA draft night😂😂😂 Cal had two lottery picks coming off his bench that last year while he had Wagner starting every game. I liked Cal but I knew it was time for a change and Pope was pretty good in year 1 before all the damn injuries piled up.
Dude who built and recruited that team last year?I like Pope a lot actually but let’s call it like it is and quit playing games dude was a complete woke ***** with that team. This year literally tells all of us if he is legit a swiftly no games, it is what it is.

Let’s be fair, every coach at Ky not named Pitino has had one of those years. Cal had more than 1, Tubby had team turmoil, Eddie Sutton burned the program down, Joe B retired after a 18-13 year, Rupp even had bad years and don’t forget Billy G. I could be wrong but didn‘t Rupp have a 13-13 when he played nothing but football schools. You are right about this year though.

I think Rupp went 13-13 with All-Americans on the team ... not sure, though.

Not accounting for injuries, I'll say 7 total losses. You just know we’re going to lay a couple stinkers out there. Part of that is Pope's soft personality. The Ohio State game 2 years ago, is a prime example of what I'm talking about.
With this roster and what looks to be a somewhat favorable schedule (weak OOC), we should not see more than 7 losses. If we lose 10+ again, it needs to be Pope’s last season.

7 losses and an E8 with a good shot at a FF and I'll be happy. It’s been too long, this needs to be a good year.

Yeah this SEC is totally the same caliber as the SEC when guys like G and Tubby were here.

Not saying Pope is the answer but cmon, let's be real.

Absolutely correct. Coming off the 66 Runts and led by Riley and Dampier they surprised in an unexpected way. Missed Kron and Conley and their versatility. Must wait and see team before predicting record, a lesson I learned that year.

Thad Jaracz was third-team after the 65-66 season. That meant there were three (3) returning All-Americans on that 13-13 team ... UFB !!

Also ... interesting to note that Bob Tallent was kicked off the '66-'67 team, after playing nineteen (19) games, reportedly for "back talk" to coach Rupp.
