Slater has missed recent practices so concern is mounting. No details about why he is not participating. Hope he can return soon and is being held out as a precaution.

I hope Slater quits football.

He has enough money and concussions and a wife.

i hope he retires. Football sucks

Yo I’m enjoying a late sushi business lunch here in NJ and ESPN is on the boob tube.

What the hell is in the water in San Diego? Slaughter is starting now because your center got hurt?

is it Harbaugh’s offensive sysrem? The string of injuries - including both Alt and Slater - is wild.

Hard to say. Losing Center Tyler Biadasz to a knee injury is a big deal, he was signed to a $30M/3yr contract to solidify the Oline. Now with Slater hurt again the offense looks weak. Chargers had made moves to bolster the Oline and increase depth. Slater’s knee injury may be a tweak and he is being held out from preseason practice and tonight’s game out of caution. But these early injuries in camp are destabilizing. They won’t win without a healthy Oline.

Slater has returned to practice and may be ready for season opener. He ruptured his patellar tendon last year not his quad tendon. The forces generated across the patellofemoral joint are enormous, roughly
7 x body weight, essentially a giant nut cracker
