There was a time and place for that… That ship has sailed! Vintage UK basketball is back, in all of its glory!

Pope is sticking around for the foreseeable future, and Calipari, Self, Donovan, and Pitino, will be LONG retired before Pope is on the hot seat again👍🏼
I would hold off on that last statement. The guy is still currently on the hot seat. While the last couple recruits have been home runs, he still has to produce results.
For years there were complaints that recruiting titles don't matter. Now is that time.

Talk is cheap. Don't you think we should wait until we actually win something before building more trophy cases???

The bottom line is that regardless of how any of us have felt about Pope up until this summer, this is his shot to show what he can do. He has worked very hard to put together a Final Four contender. No one has really been "wrong" if they've supported him or critiqued him up until this point. What matters is the team that will take the court this season. If Pope wins big, I think you see 95%+ of BBN get passionately behind him. If he fails, it will be the opposite and the new AD will make the necessary changes.

It really all comes down to Pope at this point. He has all the needed equipment to make it to the Final Four.

How convenient for you. You've worked overtime to make this board miserable for those of us with an ounce of sanity. You made your bed with your anti Pope whiny BS nonstop for months. Now you want to play nice? Shove it...

I've been fascinated by your bizarre emo level posts about me since Mitchell committed. It's like you don't understand the power of changing a position based on new evidence. Reading your responses has been like reading the diary of a petty little Catholic school girl, still nursing a grudge leftover from 3rd grade, who refuses to see or even undestand an olive branch when it's offered to her.

You will undoubtedly respond, but I won't be reading any of your drivel in the future. So have at it. Type up something super vengeful and emotional, and I won't read a word of it...

How does that satisfy your need for trivial confrontation on a Wednesday morning, ole chap?

Youll read it. Hilarious you claim otherwise. Just know my calling you out is incredibly minor compared to your insane behavior the last few months. So as frustrating as I am to you, you have ben exponentially worse to others on this board. I told you and many like you I wouldn't be letting you forget when Pope rights the ship. You laughed at the time so confident Pope could never do that. I see youre not laughing now.

How soon we forget.
Guys we just pressured a coach out of here who had one highly rated recruiting class after another and couldn't do anything with all that talent. Good class, but acting like Pope is now immune from criticism and isn't still on a hot seat is profoundly dumb. He still has to prove he can coach at a level Kentucky demands. If he doesn't start demanding players consistently get after it on defense, all the talent in the world will not save his job.

Pope's already had 2 years here and like 9 elsewhere.

He has never won **** and isn't going to miraculously start now.

We have some good players but not a good team. We filled holes with what we could get and got lucky on some late circumstances and still having money available. There is a reason we still aren't projected as a top 10 pre season team at this point.

This team will be another horrible defensive team and will be out matched physically often. Their hope is to run up the score and pray the other team isn't making as many shots.

Pope will fail, and the hopefully this AD can go and land a real coach.

I think he’s done a good job of having some players falling in his lap, but I’m not sold that he’s not on the hot seat. I mean his best two players were the last two that he landed. And I think everyone agrees that this season there’s high expectations. We have a relatively easy conference schedule or out of conference schedule isn’t too bad and we have the best team that Mark Pope is assembled. I remember last year though feeling real bullish feeling the same. We’ve got to win games and make really. I believe we need to make a final four. I mean there does come a time when booster say enough is enough. We’re not paying top five money for top 20 or top 25 results. And there’s just that stench of Barney still hovers around Mark Pope.

Notice, there was nothing you could say to refute the actual post. I appreciate the use of fallacies though.
Problem is…so far I’ve seen you regularly engage in ad hominem fallacies. You state you appreciate them…I certainly would say that checks out.

Just page one of your insults….

You can tell most of you have never had any real value to negotiate for yourselves.

Or take him off the team and they become more cohesive and win more game.

I agree, your take is goofy.

Damn, you're a sensitive little *****.

If you have good arguments to make and are skilled at communicating them, informal fallacies like ad hom shouldn’t be needed. I enjoy a good debate myself — and I must admit, there have been a few times I got it handed to me. Some of those times, I became emotional in my responses and lashed out with personal attacks rather than focusing on intellectually debunking my interlocutor. We have all done it — it seems to be a dominant card for some though.

Which ones are fallacies, though?

I do appreciate you taking the time to research my posts, though. I'm guessing I've said something to you previously to strike a chord.

"Talking about the other side of the argument, genius." How is that a fallacy?

"You can tell most of you have never had any real value to negotiate for yourselves." How is that one?

"Or take him off the team, become more cohesive and win more games. I agree your take was goofy." Again, how is that a fallacy?

"Damn, you're a sensitive little *****" How is this a fallacy?

If you're going to get upset about something, at least know what you're upset about. Lulz

They are the same type of fallacies as the ones you were bringing attention to in this thread. Informal logical fallacies (ad hominem).

And no, I don’t have anything against you and have had, to my knowledge, no interactions with you. I just noticed a pattern that you frequently post ad homs.

Except they are not. If you believe they are, it should be pretty easy to breakdown how they fit into that category.

You could maybe make an argument on the tampons comment, but if you actually understood ad hominems, you would see pretty quickly how it wouldn't qualify.

Aww, right. I bet it had nothing to do with the Oweh/Pope thread and comments. ;)
