None of the above. I expect we will have a balanced scoring attack, with 5-6 guys capable of leading us in scoring any given night, but nobody averaging more than 10-12 ppg.
It will probably be unnerving to many Hawkeye fans, who grew accustomed to the presence of an alpha scorer on every team during the McCaffery era (as well as Bennett Stirtz’s performance last year).

It could be any one of many, which is one reason Iowa will be even better this year than last. You can't focus on one guy, cuz whoever's on the floor can beat you.
Stirtz could get his own shot at end of shot clock with his handle and step back.
Not seeing any guard with that kind of game.

Seems like it should be Koch but Sage seems to have the FU gene so its tough to say.
I think Coop will be our leading scorer, but I think Sage will be the go to guy at crunch time
We had an efficient offense last year. Replicate that, and get to the 2nd action quicker, and hopefully the shot clock won't always be an issue. Have good off-ball movement at all times.
This goes along with the post above by Destin Hawk. Our wings will play a very key role this season. Losing a generational player like Stirtz wont hurt as much as some people think. This team looks more balanced and we will have a heady veteran in Combs running the point with help from a promising young guard in Coleman.
I very much like the FU attitude with Sage. Koch has some FU in him too i.e. doing the Gator chomp after we took out defending national champion Florida in Tampa.
No one ever mentions Howard. I think he has a very high ceiling and I love how he can be aggressive around the rim. He faded a little at the end of the year but hoping for big things.
I think (for the most part) we will have 4 maybe 5 guys on the court that can finish in a go-to situation. My bet is Ben has the offense ready for situational ball and they will have someone ready to take the shot under numerous scenarios. Move the ball, don't turn it over and I am comfortable with most of the guys that saw the court last year.
Ben is on the record stating that he feels good about his team for the first 35 mins. It's the last 5 mins that has him concerned....mainly because he doesn't know yet who can step up and fill that void that Stirtz filled during those last 5 mins. I'm interested to see who it'll be as well. My feeling is the same as others in that I think it could be multiple guys, including a guy like McKeever who you can throw it into in the paint and let him work or get fouled. I'm super excited to see how it plays out later this fall and winter.
He seems a little undersized to be able to consistently score around the rim in the Big Ten, but if he can improve his outside shooting, he could definitely be a surprise player. 28% from three last year.. If he can at least bump that to 35% or better, that would be a big help.
Agreed. I think it'll be a more balanced attack this year, but who is our crunch time/late in the shot clock guy? Hopefully someone will emerge.
I agree with others that Koch and Sage will probably be the biggest scorers, but I also wouldn't be surprised if Combs steps it up. He was pretty effective last year when he did look to score, he just didn't shoot a lot most games. As a senior, I'm looking for him to take a bigger role in the offense.

McKeever hasn't proven to be a guy you can throw it into and let him go to work.
Ben has said McKeever has his best basketball ahead of him. I feel excited to see what this staff can do developing a big center like Drew. From all accounts Jirak has come a long way from his first season and our inside game becomes a whole new ball game. The big men can draw attention away from our wings Koch and Sage who we will look to in crunch time.
