QB Transfer?

I could see it if he’s not QB2. But with Colandrea with 1 more year now and Trey coming. My guess is TJ will roll out.
TJ will be our starter at some point this season. I highly doubt AC will make it through the season without injury. He isn’t that big and the Houdini escape act he could do in the Mountain West will eventually get him beat to crap in the B1G.
OK I had to throw up before typing this... in 2 years Diego Pavia was sacked 41 times playing for Vanderbilt. He also ran 360 times which means he got hit a lot. I don't remember him getting hurt.
The Big 10 is physical but not much more than the SEC. He was 5' 10" and 200 - measured at the Senior Bowl.
Anthony Colandrea is 6' 0" 200ish. He was sacked 65 times and he ran it 255 times over the last 2 years. He will be fine if he gets better protection than Raiola. Of course Raiola wasn't much of a tuck and go kind of guy.
All true. But this is snake bitten Nebraska. I guarantee he will get injured. It is our density.

Nebraska would finish 6-6 with an entire roster of NFL dudes.
Pavia had a torn hamstring and a broken nose in 24 and 25. I loved watching Pavia and I hope AC is going to be similar but don't care about measurements...go watch UNLVs bowl game against Ohio...AC is substantially less thicc than Pavia and Pavia didn't have Nebraska's offensive staff and Rhule as a coach. I am sure AC is already like wth is happening here.
Pavia was definitely a baller. UVA had Colandrea in the 180ish for both years and UNLV shows 205 but his frame shows the 180s.
Personally, I think the huge key was Vandy's OC running plays to his strengths. I wonder what Holgorsen will do.
Have not seen either Pavia or Colandrea live. Watching Diego on TV he looked like he was built like a fire hydrant. Is it possible he isn't even 5' 10" tall and weighs more like 215-220 lbs? Then the same for Anthony. Out of pads and cleats could he really be more like 5'11" and only weigh 185 lbs.? Has anyone here on the Board stood next to him?

I figure he'll enter after this year unless AC declares for the draft, I doubt it. Or we don't want AC back.
Well, it is clear that for public consumption there is no clear second QB. His comments were vague and neither positive or negative. Maybe that is just his strategy to keep them both competing. My guess is he knows who his second QB is (I think TJ) but doesn’t want to come right out and say it. He wants Kaelin to feel confident and still in the mix.
Even if Kaelin is the better passer, I think it will be TJ for one big reason: his dual threat mobility. Nebraska is almost certainly tweaking the offense for Colandrea to take advantage of his legs. If TJ is forced to play the offense won’t have to change much, if at all. But if it is Kaelin, that part of the offense is off the table.

Kaelin is a better athlete than most think. TJ isn’t that much more of a run threat than Kaelin. I’m an NOT worried about TJ transferring. If he does he does. It’s not a big deal as long as DK stays.
I think TJL stays even if AC is retained next year and TT actually arrives on campus. Perhaps TJL values highly the stability of living in Lincoln as well as the educational progress he has made.
I think straightline he may not be much more than DK. But the mobility part is much more than straight line speed. Being shifty and the ability to avoid guys in the pocket as well as shaking tacklers is much more important than just a guy being a run threat.

I doubt at this point TJ will transfer. Maybe next year if he’s sandwiched between another transfer QB and Trae Taylor. IMO he could start for multiple BIG XII and or G5 schools as is.
If TJ had walked away after the UCLA game and announced plans to transfer he would have been a very hot commodity... the more he played after that, the less appealing he looked to potential suitors.
I hope so.. frees up a spot, we're moving beyond TJ I hope, the talent level is rising, not going back down.

Golden Boy was surprisingly the biggest @ 6'3", 220
I'm guessing AC will still be around... Unless he has some unbelievable Heisman year he'll be here for year 5 to either improve his draft stock or to get another shot of even being considered...
