A frat brother of mine was an O linemen that played when Redwine was there. Let’s just say Jarvis had a very difficult time learning the playbook so they had to tell him where to go on every play in the huddle. He was just too explosive to demote because of his inability to remember the playbook.

Ya some of the players just weren’t the sharpest tool in the shed . I went to high school with a WB that played during the Turner gill era . He said player’s bringing the play in from TO couldn’t remember it all be the time they got to the huddle. He said Turner was smart enough to figure out what TO was thinking and he got the correct play called.

I remember he got flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct for taunting on the 90 yard TD run against OU that is in the clip. I was too young to remember watching Johnny R as a player, but that Redwine play still sticks in my memory to this day as that was the first time I could remember during the TO era where we had a guy that was too fast for OU.

Miss having that homerun threat in the backfield. Its been a long time as our best RB's in recent years, while I'm glad we had them (Rex. Ameer, Ozigbo, Emmett), weren't that guy. Helu might have been the last.

What part don’t you believe? That Frat part or the part that Jarvis was a box of rocks. Lavante David didn’t do his assignment correctly most of the time but he made to many plays not to be on the field.

Good for him. Great pay and benefits. I got to hang out with the A’s players from a celebration reunion of one of their World Series championships. I talked with the pitcher Blue Moon Odom at one point and he proudly talked about being a school janitor for over 40 years. Great guy. The world needs good baggage handlers and janitors too.

Thanks. Forgot how good he was. Had a 12 jersey as a little feller because of Jarvis before Turner Gill came on the scene. (No, it wasn't a Husker jersey as they didn't make them back then, it was just some cheap **** from Kmart that wasn't the right colors, but I loved it.)

Holy **** was he fast. 0 to 60 in a heartbeat. Loved the tearaway jerseys. Feel priviliged to have witnessed those days.

You can't spell his name nor understand the difference between to and too, ironic you are criticizing his mental ability. He had a 14 year NFL career and will be in the hall of fame, and he played one of the most intellectually demanding positions on a defense. He was also new to Bo's defense and might account for any rumor you heard.

Jarvis Redwine played defense? I think he primarily played on special teams and kick returner in the NFL for the MN Vikings.

Wouldn’t be surprised if this was also the case for our last game breaking RB - Mo Washington

Good thing you can’t teach speed because these guys wouldn’t be able to learn it!

Being born in Inglewood in 1957 is way different than being born anywhere in America in 2000. Just the amount of lead Jarvis probably ingested in the inner city would account for any learning disabilities let alone awful education and violent surroundings. Mo didn't come off as unintelligent...seemed more like he had ADHD...and we know Frost and his coaches couldn't teach or coach. He went to Grambling State and had 2000 total yards rushing and receiving and averaged 7 ypc.

Frost couldn’t coach but he did have an eye for talent

Not looking forward to next year with a roster full of Rhule’s guys
