Khaniev is so good. The jump he made this last year is similar to James but he even started at a higher level. He has shot to win seniors

I’ve got to be honest, if I had to pick who I liked best between Robideau and Joseph Stalin, I might pick Stalin.

Uncle Joe may have caused the slaughter of millions, but he didn’t cheat PJ Duke in a wrestling match - that’s for damn sure
This is more like it, even if comically over the top.

"Don't hate Robideau" WTF. He wrestled a Lewan match vs Duke, 1-1 after SV. And it wasn't just that match. His biggest margin of victory at NCAAs was in 5-1 over the 26 seed.

If he wrestled Duke like he wrestled in this tourney and won 10-9 on a botched call, different story. But he didn't. And BTW he is demonstrating his ability to wrestle non-Lewan matches. He chooses otherwise.

We wouldn't tolerate this if he wore black and gold.

Y'all are getting soft.

He's now 17-0 this year and won a SR rankings event. He has 15 techs and a 9-0 and 8-0 win . He gave up 4 in a match and a 2 in another. 15 matches his opponent never scored

This has been hard to follow today. I get on to check for results and have to sort back to find pbp. Guess yesterday's post really worked out.
Totally agreed. I'm thinking the separate pbp thread is the way to go in the future (if @Coastal2 is up for that). Maybe try it out for U23 in Oct and see how it goes.

Bo's celebration on the mat after his win was very subdued, though he was smiling on the podium. Do you think it was subdued because these wins are expected, or do you think he was disappointed in not getting a tech or pin? I'm not even judging him, I like him, I'm just curious.

Just something he expected to do he's visualized it so many times it's like hes been there already

There's a link on almost every page. The semis were all grouped together on the last page at most depending on ignores so there's not a link.

It would be disingenuous for me to say that I know for sure my way (and El Jefe’s) with handling play-by-play is the best way. But I do encourage folks to give it a try!

  1. Have a matchup post (e.g. “Levi Haines vs Dean Hamiti:”) ready to post as soon as the match starts, hit [Post reply], then immediately edit the post.
  2. Do your pbp. If you want, you can post and re-edit periodically for anyone who is trying to see live updates.
  3. Your pbp is in the right chronology on the board, saving the need to browse through pages of content or look for reference links, and everyone’s “wow amazing pin by Levi” posts fall right below your pbp, avoiding spoilers.
To my knowledge this method has been successful for many years without all the complaining.

From a coaching perspective, it’s really difficult to get used to not coaching the kids you’ve developed for years. You have to put faith in the guys/gals coaching them now and bite your tongue when watching them compete. That’s easy to do when you’re handing them over to Cael, but I digress. KD strikes me as the kind of guy who is secure in the relationships he’s built with kids like PJ and Jayden so I wouldn’t imagine there’s too much in the way of ego-driven involvement
KD will be a future PSU coach once he gets done chasing Olympic gold. Book it!

James plan has been consistent in that he wants to enroll this fall and be a guy.

Now that the federal judge shot down athletes in the class of ‘22 wrestling a fifth year, james will be battling it out with Henckel and Cunningham for the start at 174.
I think you are counting your chickens before they have hatched.

In the 92Kg GM match, Georgia with a 4 litteraly at the buzzer to pull it out. Nice finish to the day's action!
He was trailing in a few matches this tournament and found away . The belly to belly throw for the win was awesome. Watch his 1/4 against Russia

Watch 92 kg 1/4 Final - Sandro Kurashvili, Georgia vs Artur Togoev, Russia on FloWrestling.

You just don't get athletes like that at heavyweight very often. Maybe not quite as athletic/explosive as Gable, but I can't name another heavy in the last 20yrs that is on their level (athletically), and he's a lot longer and should eventually get to 250+ while maintaining elite athleticism and conditioning. I don't see him as an NCAA champ as a freshman, but as someone else said, not totally out of the question that he's representing U.S. in '28.
Dudes a B1G TE/DE…. The next great 285…

Truly a golden generation. U20-eligible wrestlers like Duke, Blaze, Lockett, Raneys, and Forrest at home with their own incredible credentials. Lilledahl, McEnelly, Valencia, and Stanich one year removed. ‘28 Olympic trials will be insane.
Is there a site to get final USA teams and their final placements for U17, U20, and U23? These freestyle performances weren’t like this before CoVid.
