My man looks good. Thin, tanned and relaxed. No matter what happens this year I will always be grateful for his cup of water after the long walk through the tournament drought. I'm hoping he can pull a rabbit out his hat again.
Pike is a great dude. Easy to root for. Hope he gets it done.
There are 16 guys on the team. Fradkin will not play, and I don't think Ware and Tonejc will play either. That leaves the freshman Wooton and 12 others. Come tournament time most good teams are playing 8-9 guys. Who does everyone think will not be seeing playing time by the middle of February, and I would not include JMike in this group, not the way Pike talks about him.
My personal prediction is Tariq, Lino, Diego, Sydnor, Gurdak, Jones, Buchanan, Miteo, Davis, Powers
Buca will be in the rotation over Miteo. He's a man with substantial P4 experience. Miteo is young, raw and inexperienced but I like his upside for the future.
JMike will play a lot and be in the rotation until the end unless the season is a disaster and we go with a full youth movement.
Even then. If the season is a disaster Pike will know he’ll be gone and won’t be playing for the future. He’ll remain loyal to JMike.
Miteo put up much better stats in a better European league than Buca did coming into college. I think Miteo will beat him out.
He definitely is the better prospect, the question is whether he is a better player in 26/27. I think he is around 5 years younger.

Nobody knows how old Miteo is. Miteo's Rutgers bio lists his birthdate as December 13, 2008. That would make Miteo 17. A FIBA bio says he was born on July 25, 2008, making Miteo 18. Another FIBA bio lists Miteo at 21 years old. Will be interesting to see how Rutgers handles the 5x5 rule here.
Whether Miteo is 21, 17, or somewhere in between isn't the only question mark. Miteo's Rutgers bio lists him at 260 pounds but Pike says Miteo is "280, 285." The TKR guys say, "220, 230."

Well he needs a legal passport to enter the country so I’m pretty sure RU will know his real age.
Miteo needs a visa too. To get that, Miteo would go to Kinshasa, make an appointment at the US embassy, and pass an interview with a consular officer who has enormous discretion over the decision. And do it all during a reorganization of US visa services across Africa launched a few days ago.
In the pod, Pike seemed to mention Miteo "hasn't showed up yet." Hopefully, Miteo can sort all of this out and get on campus in time to enroll in classes and begin practicing with the team.
Not too big a deal if Miteo doesn't make it as Pike already succeeded in recruiting the 5 position with Christian and Dorin Buca. Worth it to take a flyer on player #15.
We really don’t know how good he is and won’t until he gets here. If he turns out to be a very good player, it could be a big deal. The most likely scenario is that he needs development and won’t make an impact this year, but one can always hope he will make a real contribution.

I have to assume the official announcement that he was added to the roster wasn't made until he had his visa and passport and was good to go.
I keep seeing him referred to as a Center. But I think with his quickness and agility he's more of a power forward (which is how he's listed on the Rutgers roster) with Gurdak, Boca and Ware as the Centers.
