What happens first, the next 1,000 yard receiver or 3000 yard qb

Seeing the Kasper thread, it made me think how many 1,000 yard receivers Iowa has had in the Ferentz era, it's only two with Kevin and McNutt's insane 1300 yard season. Same goes for qbs, Stanzi in 2010, and surprisingly Vandenberg's 2011. It's probably more likely to have a 3k qb given the TE/WR room at this point spreading the yards around.

Exactly my thought, the WR room as a whole has been massively upgraded since the '19 group of ISM/Tracy/Smith and given the WR and TE depth chart and options along with RB, I don't see a single WR getting 1,000 yards. RVZ, James and Diaz might each be in the 400-600 range IMO. Heck could def throw for 3k this year...dang didn't realize Vandy threw for that in 2011.

If we can get to 14 games this year, it might be possible for 3K. 1K for a receiver just isn't going to happen very often, McNutt was a complete anomoly that year to get that much. If they didn't get the Eddie Robinson classic in 2000 (since they didn't end up making a bowl game), Kasper wouldn't have got there either. Quinn Early got a Kickoff Classic AND a bowl game to get there in 1987 in 13 games.

Hecklinski will hit 3000+ yards on the last play of the game against Oregon in the B1G champ game. Tony Diaz will catch the pass to go over 1000+ receiving yards. Hawks win.

3,000 yard QB should happen and hopefully this season.

I’d just like to see multiple WRs in the 500-600 yard range, given how much we value TE usage in the pass game.

If we have a 3000 yard passer this season without an insanely terrible TD/INT ratio, that should indicate CFP.

a 1000 yard receiver likely won't happen without a 3000 yard passer. so i suppose will go with the latter.
