Wouldn’t put it past Sankey. He gives zero fugs about the premier hoops program of the conference. But as of now, I’m going to choose to be positive.
That starting 5 is certainly a final four contender. With a very deep bench as well.
So if this works out the way we think/hope it will is Pope given some grace ?
Pope is going to have every opportunity to win back the fanbase once the season starts. If we have Mitchell, expectations will and should be high.
That's an awesome starting 5 for sure. Hopefully it's not a situation where we have to wait months to know for sure if he's eligible by the SEC.
If it's a legit concern about the SEC, maybe he just takes less money and goes elsewhere? Hope not...legitimately excited about our potential if he plays for us.

I think fans should be happy, but not excited for this. When he plays in a game, I will count him on the team. That said, I like the team without him. Like it more with him, but I think this a short lived thing. Pope should see it that way too. Roll the dice, but know the odds do not favor play.
I wonder how long the whiff , whifferson and all those other idiots will hide after Mitchel agrees to come here. I'm sure they will find something else to piss and moan about in short order

With or without Mitchell, it’s put up or get out time. Another 10 loss plus season just cannot be tolerated regardless of the circumstances.
Technically could be used in other states for like legal precedents but him specifically coming to Kentucky to file shows he has someone in mind

However, reporting indicates the injunction’s protections may apply only within Kentucky, making a Kentucky school the clearest option if he wants to rely on that order for eligibility.
Returning to Missouri would not automatically solve the eligibility problem. Since the nationwide Colorado injunction has been stayed, Missouri might need a separate court order or NCAA clearance for Mitchell to play there.
Bottom line: Kentucky schools appear to offer the strongest protection under his current injunction. Missouri or another out-of-state school might still be possible, but potentially only with additional legal or NCAA approval.

He's gonna win 63% of the games regardless of roster. But there will be 1000's of excuses.
Pope's teams at full strength or injured are prone to just quit. And they are never in condition, they don't play defense and they don't rebound. Alos players do not improve. So it is a good thing to get players that are already made and have been coached by a competent coach.
It's possible they could overcome Pope. But it hasn't happened in 11 seasons.
Got to win the final decision though. If he does and we get him it’s on.
If he signs I can't wait to see all the posturing of the Pope haters. The mental gymnastics they will use to crap on anything good that UK and Pope do will be awesome to watch.
It's good for anywhere he wants to play. Just like Kohler's TRO in California.
But the fact he chose to file in Kentucky and entered the portal today with a Do Not Contact tag certainly seem to indicate UK is firmly in the driver's seat.
Also keep in mind UK's fall semester hasn't started yet, while many other schools have. He can actually enroll at UK.
