Shouldn't our "State" helmet......

be ranked #1. No one has anything like it. Seriously, I do agree with Michigan as the #1 helmet. Modern look to an old throwback. And I kind of like the Wyoming one....the Cowboy on the bucking bronco has always been cool in my book. My 3rd favorite would by Hawaii.....really love seeing all the islands lined up on the side of theirs.....and I can point to their helmet and say "I've been to 3 of the 7!! Now if Ole Miss wants to join the party, they can change their logo to "Ole Piss" and I might give them some reps. Don't understand BAMA being ranked at all. Might as well rank Penn State's too. Both are boring IMO.

But FSU went and changed their spear on their helmet a few years ago and it’s much worse than the old one. Loved the old one.

Notre Dame changed their flat/old gold helmet to the new bright metallic awful looking gold for the 2011 Champs Sports Bowl vs FSU ironically and lost 14-18
I we at that game.

FSU is a classic that's different and means something. Utah's is simple but pretty cool.

Just from the ones on this stupid list, Boise's are probaby the best "modern" helmet. I like Tulane's too. And San Diego State's is weird but kind of cool.

Bama, Penn State, Ohio State - all remarkably boring and lame. Only on this list because this guy doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

I never liked the modern Boise. I agree SDSU helmet are pretty cool, just a lot going on there.

Bama, Penn State are only on there because of the history of the school. Ohio St. is the only one of those 3 who should make it on the list just because of the buckeye stickers.

Whoever this guy is he’s clueless.
Not only are about half the helmets not the best, but he actually used the old FSU spear vs the new terrible looking one.

I do love Hawaii's color schemes....Black, Green, and sometimes some silver piping. The map is on one side of their helmet. The other side has their big "H".

This is very subjective obviously. It depends on do you like a creative look, or a single letter aka power logo or mascot logo or a word logo. Bottom line for the me, a good helmet represents the brand. You imediately think of the school and it is creative.

&tate logo, just doesn't look good on a helmet. The front is too small and skin to really pop off the helmet. Mississippi State could make small changes to improve their helmet. Like double white stripes with a maroon center strip. Always white facemask with maroon shell. Inverse for white shell. MSU 1986-1987 were our best helmets ever.

A few of the best helmets in college football are the traditional FSU, Miami, Michigan, Georgia, SmU, Wisconsin... LSU...

At this point, our football uniform situation is so 17ed up, I say we just be different and do the Boise State thing with the bulldog on the helmet. Truth be told, even the interlocking MSU looks dated.

We all know that if Lebby doesn't win this year, we'll abandon interlocking anyway.

It does look dated. But really no worse than 95% of college helmets out there. Granted it’s a very low bar. College football helmets are generally either boring or suck or both.
