Probably 4 years ago I posted on here that there was some potentially game changing research being done on mRNA vaccines being done against cancer. I had visited with a researcher out in Napa at my nephew’s wedding. He would only talk vaguely about the research his company (Moderna) was doing but he said it looked very promising. Now there’s published research about a trial using a “personalized” mRNA vaccine along with Keytruda to treat melanoma patients. This potentially is a huge breakthrough.

Vaccines? Are you crazy? All vaccines do is either kill you or just give you Autism if you are lucky! Just inject Ivermectin 3x daily!

I was just reading about this. Fascinating, and potentially a complete shift in treatments.

It’s usually never black and white as medicine creeps forward. Melanoma has been a death sentence for thousands of people. So far all I’ve seen is research dealing with solitary excisable tumors. I’m sure trials are being done on metastatic melanoma. I’ve posted on here previously about the advances in immunotherapy for metastatic pancreatic cancer. It’s never 100% but it can/might save a lot of lives or at least buy years.

Always this fuching retard, lurking in the shadows, waiting to regurgitate what some other retard said on Reddit
The crappy part of it is, there isn’t a cure for its kind; normal people have to experience it, and have to try not to stare when they see one of them out on the street.

Hot take; I agree with the sect of scientists who dont believe cancer can be "cured". The best we can do is hope for better treatment programs.

Cancer itself is simply a bi-product of how our bodies work. Everyone would likely develop cancer if they lived long enough. I dont see how we can simply "stop" it from occurring.

Then again, maybe its a good thing Im not in charge of cancer research and some incredible folks will prove that idea wrong...

Thanks for reminding me that I need to get my shingles vaccine. The rest of you jerk offs can head back to the dark ages and stick some leeches to your balls or something.
I should. I had chicken pox at 36, and am at a higher risk for shingles, but I generally eschew all regular vaccines. I am stubborn.

Cancer is simply systems wearing out or breaking down. Is tragic if one is young, a simple fact of life as you age out.

I still think there’s way too much money being made with cancer being around. No way do they want to find a cure.
Yes, but, cure or not, it is inevitable that treatments will advance, and relatively quickly. Feels like if you can get thru the next three or four years without getting anything major, your chances of dealing with something major, and living a fairly healthy and regular life, vastly improve. The advances may also come more readily in the early detection of it rather than the cure of it.

Our ability to find new therapies is outpacing our ability to pay for them. People can ***** about big Pharma making money but that’s what drives these new therapies. Medicare for all would likely end most medical advances.

Its really just a game of math. Our cells divide. Sometimes, they screw up the math.

We cant stop cells from reproducing, its necessary. Unless we can figure out some way to change our genetics in such a way that improves our cellular copy/paste function to work flawlessly 100% of the time (quite the task considering how often our cells are dividing) I just dont see how its possible to stop cancer outright.

There should be a middle ground. Maybe we can work on a cure for melanoma while also having a system that doesn't ruin someone financially because they need back surgery or a supply of epipens.

I been drinking, smoking, sitting around and eating processed food for decades...I'll take my chances with cancer, don't want the myocarditis from the jab.

Don't you remember the Bush W years. Deadliest terrorist attack, two failed wars, thousands of America soldiers killed, billions of dollars spent on disability, hundreds of thousands of civilians killed to help form multiple failed states, one of the largest economic collapses in history and his supporters just conveniently forget everything...it is almost like we have a nation of people who don't want to take responsibility for their takes. I am quite envious actually of the skill it takes to live in a such a fantasy.

Thank you for your guide.

I will still pass. I like to think I have a healthy immune system, after all I was 36 before I got chickenpox, right?

I vigorously ate psusy at every chance and am not a fan of more vaccines. I do understand the science, just not a fan.

Your body your choice ...always.....it was truly awful
I hated being required to take a covid shot, still resent it.

I did it to be allowed to go back on air.

I have not died yet from any of myriad deathly side effects. That will come though.

Were I diagnosed with cancer and the doctor says we can make you a personal jab, I am all in!

The story of the Hungarian woman who pioneered the research is quite something. Medical research, but with a PhD, not an MD so she really didn’t run a lab. And mRNA was considered subordinate and not stable enough. So she struggled to find funding. But then she met an MD who had the same interests as she did and they started to get somewhere. Once they figured out how to stabilize the molecule for experimentation, they were off to the races. This is going to revolutionize medicine for our children and grandchildren.

So yeah I would think if you are doing a solo show you shouldn't have been required...I was required to get my shots as well. The 2nd one was rough

I just hope people trust the science and medical experts. I think most people will.

This. It’s largely about the environment where things can thrive or not have the opportunity to get established. People abuse the environment then hope that there’s a magic bullet to erase years of dysfunction and abuse. A protocol that focuses on prevention is the long play and the right one. Obviously a very complex problem, but being mindful of the factors that contributes to disease and acting against them is the best solution, although not bulletproof
