I'm posting these links in light of today's ruling allowing NFL players to enter the NCAA transfer portal. The destruction of college football is nearly complete. Glad I was alive when it was still college football. College Football Classics is pretty cool.

I saw the ruling. Hopefully any player who actually comes back. They blow out both knees and they end up on welfare for the rest of their lives. Fk them losers.

It's an interesting ruling, but shouldn't be overly impactful long term. Right now we have a unique situation with the new 5 for 5 rule. Guys that went pro after 4 years and didn't make the NFL roster can technically come back to join a college team for one more year. Each year after this should be less of an issue... heck how many guys that have a real shot at making an NFL roster are really going to go pro with one year of eligibility left when the money is so much better to just stay for a 5th year.

It’s just bonkers that any judge has the authority to adjust nearly any “rule” in college football.
They probably don't. It's easier to see if you can shop the right judge who will push it than to try to change things legislatively (whether gov or NCAA), though. Thus we have America as it exists on Aug 20, 2026.

I mean, whatever. Just watch football this fall and ask yourself whether it's over. BTW, it's always been about the money - just not for the players. There will be a course correction.
Nobody has really ever cared about the people playing the game, I don't think anybody would care if emmitt come backs...they are just helmets, symbols, and numbers,,,which is why I think football is so popular in America. There isn't a sport that dehumanizes the athlete more...low salaries, life threatening injuries, poor post career investment, any player speaks up and gets blacklisted. I brought up the idea that we could buy a semi-pro team and just suit them up and win, and really people wouldn't care anymore. It works for football because of the costume and the fanbase being ignorant wild animals, myself included.

I’m sitting here wondering what kind of word salad Rhule would come up with at his pressor. Bound to be fantastic.
Rhule walking to the podium after a hard fought 13-10 victory over Ohio in OT. Preparing his "it's about the process" speech.

Troy Dannen after the game standing off to the side of the podium and knowing he found his man.
