Does it bother anyone else that Trump tried to overthrow the government on January 6, 2021 and got away with it?

I remember where I was that day...I was driving 15 miles north of D.C. and my cousin texted me that Trump supporters invaded the Capitol. The darkness was palpable.

I watch tons of cable news and every time I see that prick on TV, I am reminded of how he incited a mob to ransack the Capitol and got away with it.

It boggles my mind.

Most definitely. I was home, still recovering from the rona. At that time I was working half days so missed what the POS and others said in the morning but watched the insurrection attempt happen live.

I thought that he would be exiled like other banana Republic former leaders. There's no way he's recovering from this shid. Crazy where we are right now because we are too proud as a nation, to do what was right.

It's the one thing, far more than any other, that I'll never understand how he got away with and how anyone could ever vote for him after it. When I was in Rome last year, that was the number one question that people from other countries asked me about. "What do you think about January 6th?" And they asked it in a wary way, like I was being judged on how I answered it. It was one of the darkest, most shameful episodes in our history.

Yep.

No other President comes close.

Here is how Trump got away with it. McConnell figured he'd triangulate his way through it by signaling for Republicans to protect Trump, and he'd just quietly go away like every other ex president. Then he could keep the MAGAt voters for 2022 and 2024. Somehow in 4 years of being debased and abused by Trump he didn't learn that Trump was not going to accept quietly going away, and not being the center of attention, or having all of that power and the ability to make money off of being president.

Yep, if you remember, he said the courts should handle it but that didn't work either.

Yeah, seeing how the Trump-verse have downplayed and revised away what really happened that day has been an eye-opening experience. My own brother has argued it was a bunch of tourists and ladies with strollers... that level of disingenuousness is other-worldly. It's quite a time in one's life when you come to realize so many tens of millions of Americans are either morally bankrupt or completely dumb AF.

You should stop acting like Celine Dion drama, & keep your word on your bet. Show some character.

Does the fact that Russian Collusion has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt to be a made up coup, but none of yall are outraged by that, huh?

I will offer a trade. You can lock up everyone involved with Jan 6 if I can do the same for Covid criminals.
