We saw a band called WHORES as a support act for Corrosion of Conformity that past weekend in New Orleans. Tough name for a band, and their sound is even tougher--deemed Noise rock. I never listened to them before. I leaned over to the guy next to me after their set, and I set they sound like a cross between Helmet and The Melvins. So, I looked them up, and they said their influences are Helmet and The Melvins. Ha.
Anyway, this is from their 2024 release that is one of their most palatable songs for the masses:

New from NYC "post-hardcore" (dumb label) Quicksand. Not hardcore at all, just rock n roll:
First new music from A Perfect Circle, with Maynard James Keenan (also Tool, Puscifer) and NJ's own Billy Howerdel (West Milford High School), who was a guitar tech for tool and several other bands before forming A Perfect Circle with MJK.
Actually, right now my latest favorite is Coming Through from this year's Drugcember first night, where Adam really lets go with an extended solo at the end of the tune. Brings a smile to my face with every listen.There's a live version of Harmonia's Dream that's currently on You Tube from a show the band did last week in Philadelphia at a club called Johnny Brenda's.
They did shows there on the 18th, 19th and the 20th. The show on the 20th included visits from Kurt Vile and Joe Walsh. After doing two of his own tunes, Walsh joined Granduciel for an absolutely awesome version of the Drugs' Under the Pressure. Both killed it with their guitar work. It's my new favorite thing to listen to.
Another new one from Death Cab for Cutie- this rocks a little bit harder and swings more than their more melodic songs:
The Speaker Wars with Stan Lynch from Tom Petty's Heartbreakers. Solid track.
And today, Death Cab comes back with something more in line with the Death Cab playbook. Beautiful, melodic song. Ben Gibbard has a wonderful way with words.

I've been listening to The Band Feel a lot recently. Discovered them scrolling Instagram and dug them. Saw them play a free outdoor show last summer, down here and Texas and became hooked. Seems like they are starting to get a little bigger now. They have a retro, Zeppelin-y vibe. If you're into that sort of thing, I highly recommend them.
Saw them open for the Black Crowes at MusikFest in Bethlehem last summer. Solid band and very entertaining!
Rudy Sarzo, bassist in Quiet Riot among other bands, releasing music on his own. This is a nice, melodic song.
If you like dance club music the new Madonna is actually very good and fresh for a legacy artist. Despite looking a bit ridiculous in person the release is probably her best in 20 years and for once is getting solid critical reviews
Alabama Shakes are back together and have a new album coming out at the end of the month. This is a song called “I feel hope coming”. Some legit R&B , Brittany Howard is a great singer (and can really play the guitar). Some very good, timely lyrics:
Alert to @RUGuitarMan1 and @PiscatawayMike --apparently, this is for real. I'm not hauling out to Long Island to see an 81 year old Ritchie Blackmore play with Deep Purple, but some may want to:

There's a great band (IMO) Yarn, playing at Flounders Brewing next month. If you're local y'all should check it out! I wish I lived closer.
