Agreed. Kix had the greatest marketing/ad campaign of all time though. Made their cereal look so good. But alas, they were absolutely horrific. Not quite sure what little sociopathic gobblins they had taste test that crap.
Regular Cap'n Crunch is so much better without the Crunch Berries. I can't imagine eating just a bowl of the berries

Yeah. I rolled with the Count for years. I was also Team Quisp and not Quake.
Anyone remember the other three that went with Count Chocula, Frankenstein Berry and no Berry (Frute Brute, Yummy Mummy and Carmella Creeper)

Never heard of Quisp. Interestingly though, I have to Google more stuff here in the cesspool then any other place.
my grandparents always had those little boxes of cereal. lol. if I got stuck with Rice Crispies or regular Corn Flakes I added about a cup of sugar. It would alway sink to the bottom and make a milk and sugar slushie.

Oatmeal, cream of wheat and stale Cheerios during the week. The boxed sugar only occasionally as a treat on Saturday mornings

My mom tried that one time. Big bags of off-brand cereals. Super cheap, bigger quantity. They were disgusting. One of the very few times in my life I can actually remember winning an argument, and my mom never bought them again.
Hey we can't all be a well off Iowa wrestling Letterman like yourself. There were some hidden gems in those 5 pound bags.
Whoa, whoa. We weren't well off. But choices were made. So while i didn't get all the cereal I wanted, the amount I did get was quality.
My parents bought groceries once a month. When you were out of "your" stuff, you were out. You learned how to ration.

Military parents. One big commissary trip a month. I had to go, or they wouldn't purchase the snacks I wanted.

Thats what I was thinking!! I didn’t get to eat any of that stuff until I joined the Army and made some real money ($551 per month before taxes). LOL! I thought I had struck it rich!!
Speaking of budget buys - any cube steak eaters out there? The first year or two of marriage that was a staple.
