This movie got a LOT of recognition after it was done in the Theaters, but was a Box Office flop, earning only $16 million during its initial theatrical run against a $25 million budget. To be fair, it was released at the same time as Pulp Fiction and Forrest Gump.

Next Stop Wonderland, but we loved it more than most because we lived in the Boston area when it came out (Wonderland is a stop on the blue line).
I don't know how much attention is a lot of attention, but I'll go with the Coen Brothers' remake of True Grit.
And on the documentary side (since they never really get a lot of attention), I gotta go with The Barkley Marathons and Icarus.

Some solid western remakes out there. 3:10 to Yuma w/ Christian Bale was great too.
though of course, anything the Coens touched really was never the genre it appeared to be.
i wouldn't call them "great"...but they are perfect for a lazy weekend afternoon

I loved Under the Silver Lake, and I almost never run into anybody else who has seen it, including other people who really like movies set in Los Angeles.
