Ironically, only guy in the band with a beard.

Billy Gibbons the only living member left.



On the recommendation of a musician I listen to a lot of, check out ZZ Top's album Mescalero.

But they all had the sunglasses! I know they had their thing with the beards and all but I thought that sometimes detracted from the musicians they were.

AThey made some really great music before and after they became MTV sensations with Sharp Dressed Man and legs.

One man's trash is another's treasure, but the Mescalero album is a very diverse and interesting album. Love that Billy Gibbons singing in Spanish. The guitar tones on the title track are wild, mixed with marimba is a great mix of blues and Tejano music.



And this tune is marvelous:

Just found this one out. How about how iconic this band was. They made their reputation in the 70s but their unexpected MTV success with their legendary videos cemented their legacy with a new generation and then added a new wrinkle with synths akin to Depeche Mode for Sleeping Bag my favorite of theirs
