We asked Football NIL budget - what do you think our overall NIL budget is for the athletic department?

Probably needs to be much higher. A recent NY TIMES article (linked, but might have a paywall) estimated the average cost of an SEC basketball roster this year is $18 MM. This was based on interviews with anonymous SEC coaches, and they probably meant median instead of average, but even a $10 MM basketball NIL budget won't cut it.

College basketball rosters now start at $10 million. And one league is spending 3 times that

Last season, Kentucky made headlines for a $22 million team. Multiple teams have soared past that amount this offseason.

So, take whatever you think we spend on football, add $15 to 18 MM for basketball, some big number for baseball, and add in money for non revenue sports. Thats what our overall NIL budget needs to be just to have a shot at middle of pack in the SEC.

I see no reason to spend $15-18MM on basketball to try to be middle of the pack.
