I’m going with separating that connection between your fingernail and fingernail bed.

Like a paper cut x 10!

What else?
I was unloading boxes off the back of a truck in my younger days. Went to grab a box and slid my hand between the box and the side of the truck. Drove a sliver of wood under my fingernail past the quick... couldn't see the end inside my finger. I would have confessed to anything to get that thing out.

I don't think that qualifies as "common", though.

Most of these listed suck. Here are two more.

Tear jerkers when you get hit square in the nose.

Catching your head on a sharp corner.
Standing up and hitting your head on the corner of a cabinet door was going to be one of mine.
Or, wearing a ball cap and something hitting the button on top of it hard into your skull.

Back pain that comes on unexpectedly, when you are just doing normal things like twisting or bending to pick something up, and lasts for days. I've been dealing with some for about a week now.
