This decision is a head scratcher....N Korea for years has been trying to get the US to end these US/S Korea exercises..so we do it unilaterally???
Agree. Trump should have pointed out that the current S. Korea gov inexplicably favors the China police state, per the WSJ link below:

The governing party "In 2021 it joined the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing."

Further, "In today’s Minju-run South Korea, Americans contend with an ally that is largely unsympathetic to the alliance and wants to cooperate less, not more, with U.S. security initiatives."

"Mr. Lee and Minju have made clear they aren’t on America’s side in the China competition. During his presidential campaign, Mr. Lee declared that he didn’t care what happens to Taiwan. In April, Mr. Lee’s defense minister discussed bilateral defense cooperation with China’s ambassador to South Korea."

so...a nuclear power who keeps progressing/advancing their arsenal (they tested a ballistic missile 5 days ago) and has made explicit threats to an important regional ally/democratic nation

but they're cool because trump likes them more

the insanity of foreign policy (an entire federal govt, really) based on one man's whim or personal feelings
Good analysis on Lib TV this morning. SK could now view getting nuclear weapons as a priority. The US continues to show to traditional allies that we won't honor our agreements. The war against Iran is showing that in many instances we cannot protect our allies or ourselves as Iran has made the US base in Bahrain, and air bases in Jordan targets and severely impacted our operations in forward areas.

Trump is being Trump ... this comes as no surprise to anyone. He's an incompetent nutbag who puts his own interests over this country's.

If he gets any crazier, he'll side with the Islamic terrorists over Israel.

Are you saying he's going to join the DSA?

You are so close to seeing the truth:

We have had good men who were good presidents (Eisenhower).
We have had good men who were bad presidents (Carter)
We have had bad men that were good presidents (Clinton)

Trump is a horrible man who is a horrible president. It is as simple as that.

Narrator: he’s nowhere close to seeing the truth.

I never thought I'd see a president more willing to support dictator's from countries that have been enemies for decades over our allies, yet here we are. MAGA, how do you defend this?
TIC, maybe Kim has "evolved" in his thinking. Evolution of ideas seems to happen quite frequently among our leaders, why not in N.Korea. And, just consider, aren't we better having the guy with all the nukes on our side? What do we get from S Korea...cars, refrigerators, washers and dryers, can't shoot them at another country.

Posts like this are why I hate it that we can't use the R word anymore. NK on our side? A brutal dictator who murdered family members, and has allowed millions to starve under his rule has evolved?

Wait are you really trying to justify this insanity?

Seriously?

And this ladies and gentlemen is the clear example of someone having to shape reality to make sense of the utter idiot Trump is.

Finally admit that you are on the side of a diaper wearing bafoon who only cares about himself. Or just be old and die with that lie you tell yourself every day.

you didn't pick up the TIC, tongue in cheek

""Tongue in cheek" is an idiom that describes a joke, ironic statement, or humorous remark told with a serious face. It means the speaker or creator is not being literal, but is instead acting playful, teasing, or poking fun without any intent to trick anyone"

My sarcasm meter is apparently broken today and I did not recognize the acronym...apologies.

And people wonder why I tell anyone who still calls themselves a Republican to go f*ck themselves. You cannot be a “moderate” Republican. There is no such thing as
So I’ve come back to this a couple of times. You may not be wrong, but I think that’s what I am. Or a Republicrat (Dominican is taken). The guys that I know we all are pretty similarly situated: these are southern guys who went to southern schools, hunt, fish, are successful in their fields, are family men, and are just tired of trump and the nonsense. Really just tired of the extremes in general. Hate crazy left as much as MAGA right and just want normal. Guys that don’t give a damn about most social things, believe in helping people and assisting the less fortunate, have sympathy for others where empathy lacks, work hard, play hard, and have a profound respect for the country. Regardless of the title, we are all tired of this.

This is a post I think 99% of us would agree with. No matter the party affiliation or an independent, let's get on with solving the real problems and get off all this peripheral stuff.

Trump lost in 2020 largely because people were tired of the non stop drama. He's good at running for office. He's been great at comms and defining and creating enemies to be petrified of. What he's not good at is being in charge of things. It's why his dad left a core of guys to run Trump Org. He tried to make it Donald proof. Nobody made America Donald proof for his second go around in the WH.
Honest question, of these folks you speak of, how many of them voted for Trump 2-3 times but are tired of all of the extremes?
