Came across some highlights from a Sac vs Minny game last season. If Keeg comes back healthy and doesn't incur another injury, he could have a remarkable year, especially with the addition of good younger players. If the Kings can get off of the big veteran contracts, the future looks very bright.

Just came across this article, originally written by "Will Z" (Zimmerle) of "Will Z Stats and SI). Here's a trade proposal where Sabonis is moved to Portland for Jeremi Grant, a 2028 first round pick, and Kris Murray. Two Murrays are better than one? ;) Just another trade scenario, but interesting nonetheless. Btw, in the top photo, the caption describes Kevin Huerter being guarded by Grant. I think they got it wrong.

It would be cool to have them on the kings together.
I think at this point it is established that Kris would be a backup for Keegan in the rotation.
Wonder if Kris would like that or not?

Clearly kings are rebuilding.
DeMar and Zach need to be moved
Probably Keaton wagler coming in draft( shades of halliburton, former king, who he is compared to by scouts)...nice distributor who could set the Murray's up for wing three pointers.

Another trade scenario.

Interesting thought
Trades are hard to pull off.
As a Keegan fan, I would not hate it.
I want him on a competitive team.
Kings almost never get on tv.

If the lakers re-sign Lebron and Reeves
( probable) hard to see them taking on keegans 28 million/yr salary.
If Luka , LeBron, reeves and Keegan all stayed healthy Keegan would be on TV every nite!

Well, the Kings welcomed their three new players today. Featured are the two videos. Thanks to Matt and Sactown Sports 1140 and ABC10 for putting these videos out there on YouTube for us to view. Keegan and Dylan Cardwell were there to support the new guys, fresh off of a workout. Matt mentions this in his podcast at 18:23. Also, Matt has updates on a move that Scott Perry has made, and news on DeMar and LaVine. Talk of Jonathan Kuminga and Domas as well.

Kings have waived DeMar. Got much needed pieces. Getting younger! They need to decide still about keeping Sabonis, and hopefully LaVine will go next summer. Cut expenses and let the young stallions go go go!

6 NBA Summer League rookies struggling to live up to the hype so far

100% with Mara. He's been big time disappointing. They won't do it, but I'd park him in the G League for awhile. That might wake him up. The guy doing the color commentary in his last game was thoroughly disappointed in him, and he let it be known on air.

Acuff needs time to adjust. I think he'll be fine over the longer term. My guy for Sac has been Emmanuel Sharp. Very impressed with his offense, and even more so defensively. He's a:

Granted I haven't watched him play this summer, but looking at his stat line it was pretty good, imo.

His last game.

If you go all the way back to the start of Summer League, he had games in double figures and did fairly well rebounding when he wasn't standing around. In one game he only scored 2 points. Bennett, by far has been the best player between the two, in both shooting and effort. He reminds me of another Spanish player who was a bit lazy at times.

Interesting early assessment of these rookies.

1 . Swain has looked rough for bulls so far.
Bulls like his physical defensive presence on perimeter( which they lacked) so took him over more offensive guards like lebaron and Coleman.
Bulls guards o this summer team flat out suck but I fear the final roster will not be much better.

2. I do think that Michigan was so loaded, it elevated their draftees. One the three might not be worthy..right now it's mara.

3.. Houston has looked like the best team to miss the elite 8 due to illini.
Fleming, sharp, cenar and uzine have all looked good.
Glad hawks faced illini instead

Also very pleased with bulls pick of Wilson...only real concerns were his outside shooting and he is 12 of 25 from arc.... I'll take that.

Mara was elevated by the Thunder because of their recent loss to San Antonio, I would assume. They simply think they need more height in stopping/slowing Wembanyama.

NBA summer league warning signs: Which five rookies are already raising serious concerns?

Sacramento Kings guard Darius Acuff Jr. has produced respectable scoring numbers, but efficiency remains a major concern. Turnovers, inconsistent three-point shooting, defensive lapses, and struggles finishing around the rim have overshadowed his offensive talent. Meanwhile, Los Angeles Clippers rookie Keaton Wagler has displayed impressive basketball IQ but continues to battle questions about his athleticism, ability to create separation, and defensive impact against stronger opponents.

The league seems to be back to embracing power forwards and playing 2 bigs.
Knicks and thunder influence?

Rauynard is not on my radar but sabonis can play the 4.

Keegan will still need to guard the most unguardable guys in BB like Jalen brown,Castle
( who has grown to 6'8".), jdub, Luka..ect.

Keegan needs to shoot the three like his rookie year.
Kings have zero pressure as they are ticketed for bottom in West.

Yep. Keegan needs to get his 3 pt shot cranked up again. Max Raynaud will be a really good one.

Will Z is talking about maybe Acuff and Keegan developing a pick and roll game. It would be nice, but if Keegan plays the small forward spot, I don't see many opportunities for a P&R with them, not when you have Achiuwa, Sabonis, and Max Raynaud. But, who knows?

Russell Westbrook announced his retirement after a season with Sac. DeRozan is gone. Next year the Kings will be able to get off of LaVine's contract, and Sac can decide what to do with Sabonis. Kings GM Scott Perry building a young team.

Sabonis' best days are behind him. Have been since Kevon Looney ran circles around him in the 2023 playoffs.

For his pro career, Keegan probably landed in a good spot as he emerges as a foundational piece on a moribund franchise.
Financial security is secured with 140 million guaranteed, he can just play, without tremendous pressure,as that will be on Acuff.
If he can compile the stats,as the # 2 guy after lavine is out, he will get another big deal in five years.
Losing does suck, tho, but the newly married couple will never have money woes.

Scott Perry is building around Acuff now. He's the future. Really hoping that Keegan can get his distance stroke back this year. He has everything else in his bag.
