really.....two dudes going back and forth with one calling the other a "whiney f*ck" seems to apply perfectly.
There really wasn’t much of a “back and forth”. Go find me saying anything even remotely close to bad. There isn’t even a hint of it. Was one guy losing his mind in a really crazy uncalled for rant. That was about it.

“Say nice things about the coach or I will cuss you out.”

That’s not how things should work.

Ever since the switch was made to On3, the quality of posters here has diminished greatly. It feels like a bunch of these posters are the same guy. They absolutely lose their shizz if you have an type of critique towards Pope.
Yeah we lost a ton of good daily posters after the move. Not having a plan to switch over, the Anon BS at first without our old accounts really soured everyone. People have posted for years under a handle and didn’t want to lose that. Then they cut all the boards people like to post on.

If you’re playing far off a guy like Zoom you’re already in position to cut him off going downhill. The difference with Oweh is that, while his mechanics were ugly, he actually was a steady threat to make catch and shoot 3s.

As for Mom and Mitchell, I don’t doubt we can do things like you suggested, playing them on the same side. The problem is we end up out of our continuous read-based 5-out Zoom offense due to the lack of options. That whole offense works off of principles of your offense thinks faster than the defense reacts. There’s too many options to account for in theory.

Player 1, the DHO handler can shoot, drive, hand off or pass to one of the other 3 players.

Player 2, the DHO receiver can receive to shoot, receive to drive, receive to pass to one of the other 3 players, reject to curl into back cut, or reject to occupy space elsewhere.

If the players you use in these actions are strong in certain areas and weak in others, the read-based aspect is diminished. We will be stacking too many guys with an obvious preference in the actions. That’s how I see it playing out. Obviously, I trust Keegan Brown and Mark Pope to know better than me. So undoubtedly, we will find out that I’m once again an idiot.
I can’t argue. In a sense this is why I talked myself blue in the face all summer saying how critically we needed one more sharpshooting two/three in order to capitalize on our investment and make our offense work as designed (and as takes advantage of Pope’s coaching skills as opposed to basically playing him out of position as a coach if that makes any sense). All the same, a player of Mitchell’s type and caliber would open up a lot of opportunities for hybrid offenses that I think would still play into MP’s hand somewhat. And if those hybrid offenses were generally successful, which I think is a decent gamble, I could see them being good situations for a Mason Williams or a Jerone Morton to come along. If one of them happens to thrive and catch fire as a playable SEC-level outside threat then the whole deal is back on. So that’s what I’m hoping for.

Thread got ummm… interesting for sure.

I have no idea how good, mediocre, or bad this team is going to be, nobody does. It’s another new group of players and it comes down to how well they translate to Pope's style of play.

I think defense could be our downfall, but I feel like Pope runs an offense that is tough to guard, especially if he has a big that can run it from the top.

We shot the 3 ball pretty well 2 seasons ago and I feel like this team has a better collection of shooters and a similar dog at pg.

One thing's for sure though, there are some dude's in here that need to learn the difference between "your" and "youre". Sheesh.

IMO, defense and rebounding are going to be the biggest issues this season.

I completely agree about the usage of "your/you're". It's almost like their trying to mess up sometimes. The all caps really gets on my nerves to.

I think this is the problem with two fictional sides man. Most of the people are actually in the middle, people that want it to work with Pope and just don’t know if it will.

Im in the camp of 40% confidence Pope will do enough to be coach here long term but 100% behind him to get it done. There are benefits to Pope that you don’t find elsewhere. I’m also very vocal about what I believe is working and what isn’t working and I won’t play to a fictional team for internet clicks. I’m also not about mistreating people over having a different opinion than me.

Some people call it “playing both sides.” I call it trying to be as honest as I can about how I really feel about things. I catch crap from both sides over it. And yes, anyone who personally attacks me, I usually temporarily block them (usually for like a month.) To me, that stuff crosses the lane. Just debate my points and keep the personal stuff out and I’m good.
You have been more than fair to Pope in his time here.

Mitchell gives us a legit stud inside that has proven he can get 30 in an SEC tourney game if needed. MM I look to be very much improved, but Mitchell would take a ton of pressure off of him to contribute every game at a level he may not be ready for yet.

I feel like this place needed a cleanse. The last few years of Cal this place was the most toxic online community I've ever seen. The pumpers vs the LOD. It was the wild west. Once Cal left a lot of the worst posters got bored and left with him. Then came the On3 switch and now it feels like we are all starting over from scratch. I lost my username and 10 years worth of posts in that merger. Then I got banned almost immediately by On3 for making a gay joke. That's when I had to tell Toto we weren't in Kansas anymore.

Real question is how @KyKevin is actively getting away with posting like this. This is a forum for everyone and I wasn’t realizing that you’ve been getting away with talking absolutely awful to people who aren’t positive enough for you about basketball. The way you talked to Eagles Ball over having different basketball takes than you is way over the line. Do the mods even moderate here? No chance I’d have gotten away with treating people like this guy does and I wouldn’t have wanted to. Everyone should be able to share their basketball opinions without this kind of extreme behavior.
Lighten up Francis
