Danny Kaelin should be the starter at QB.

Why do you feel this way? What have you seen from him that you like better than TJ since HS?

I didn't see a lot of Danny in HS fwiw.

He won the accuracy competition at the elite 11. Watching the little bit of drills we get to see he looks sharp. I like his delivery and demeanor. Seems pretty even keeled. He’s way more athletic than people think as well. None of us posting on here really know for sure but he’s had just enough starting experience to know what he’s needed to work on this past off season. I feel pretty good about his potential to be successful but as our GM said, you have to balance potential versus proven production. Colandrea has way more proven production.

I honestly didn't have much of a problem with Dowdell getting reps. We needed a hammer in the backfield. Imo he wasn't as bad as people made it. For me it was the fascination they had with Rahmir. I never got it. A small straight line runner without much power or wiggle. THATS who Emmett should replace early.

Rhamir’s speed and chunk play potential was I believe they saw. I also think they viewed him as a better pass receiver.

Colandrea will only play because the line stinks and he can scramble

Thats the point most posters on here miss. He got OPOY for a reason, his stats have improved over time. There was a video by Matthew Downing that goes over everything about Colandrea and he puts it better than I can.

Here's the video in question.

Some of those plays scream TO’s against Big Ten defense. Especially, the back to back plays starting at around the 2 minute mark.

Who is going to start at QB for the Huskers (barring injury) has held about the same level of surprise over nearly two decades as what direction the sun rises from. Taylor Martinez winning the job back in 2010 might be the last time there was some surprise involved. I don't think TMart was even officially designated as a QB recruit when he was signed.

Has looked better in all the practices and drills. We should not play a player just because they are getting more NIL money.
I absolutely believe DK has a higher ceiling and should be the #2 guy.

Disagree with your later posts about Colandrea. I think he's going to be a big spark, and Danny has a good shot to be productive as the number 2..

I think they still have TJ as the #2 guy, at least he's taking reps 2nd, but I do not like what I see in him yet. His body language is not confident, and i really don't want to see him take the field unless he has to.

I think the offense can be very productive under Colandrea and DK.. We go backwards if they put TJ in there right now.

PS.. We are a Playoff Caliber team this year!

Wish I was as high on him. I didn't/don't see anything special. Just a guy to me. As a 3rd stringer probably a good pickup tho.

Rahmir literally did NOTHING better than EJ imo.

Did not have EJs wiggle, but when he was healthy he had very good acceleration through a run crease. His last game against BC showed was he could have been had he not been injured about half of his time in Lincoln.

We’ve been rolling with 3rd stringers weren’t even “just a guy”. Then we’ve been stuck playing injured QBs who shouldn’t be on the field because we couldn’t trust that 3rd guy. I would bet money that Dana trusts DK.

May the QB who demonstrates the best ability in actual games win the job. I have no favorites except wanting to win games. Practices are important BUT don't always tell the full story either. I remember the QB from some years ago who had outstanding practices but then couldn't perform in actual games. Must have been some mental issue with him.

All that could be true and my statement is true as well. He did nothing better than EJ.

He looked about as good at Virginia as Mendoza looked at Cal. I realize UNLV is a different level of competition but I can't believe how willing people are to completely discount the fact that he has tons of experience.

Edit: I misread your post, I thought you were talking about Colandrea.
Fair enough: Players come up from "lower competition" all the time. It doesn't mean that he won't be fine. Do I trust our QB development? Nope. (Which is what concerns me about DK/TJ getting much better. Maybe I'm wrong about that.) AC got great qb coaching by a much better coach, I figure. Hoping he maintains what he learned from him enough that he can guide these supposedly "Better players" to a notch better than we all expect.

Sims looked like NFL material everywhere he played except here.
He had too many inexplicable turnovers everywhere he went. The fascination with him was his physical tools. He looked the part and I think it was Gil Brandt that said “every OC and QB in the NFL sees a talented guy who has an accuracy or turnover problem and they think they’re the one who can fix him. They usually cant.” The only guy I’ve seen regularly do that is KOC with the Vikes and even he can’t fix JJMcCarthy.

Rhule was desperate to find a QB and no doubt he and Satt saw the obvious physical talent and said to each other, we can fix him.

LOL. Colandrea is our best QB.

First and foremost, he is a competitive gamer.

Second, the offensive staff was very upset by DR complete lack of mobility and holding onto the football, especially after the Michigan game. They want the mobility.

Colandrea will frustrate at times with turnovers but overall NU fans will love him and he gives us our best chance.

He’s certainly by far our most experienced. Probably the best at this point in their careers. Maybe TJ or DK develop in to someone even better. Production over potential.

Colandrea will be 6-6. Danny Dimes would be 9-3 record. Rhule has a history of playing the worst players

Haarberg played because Rhule’s handpicked QB was so righteously asss it was nearly impossible to fathom

then he quit on the team to boot

Classic Preacher Rhule culture guy
and...because the line stunk and he could run. Both can be true.

Your hatred for Rhule is greater than your passion for NU football, and thus you've become a predictable cliche with every post.
