Well football season is here. Glad to see it. Big game coming up on Aug 21 RH Northwestern will take on Hough. Probably Hough biggest game other than Providence Day in regular season. Let’s hear it. Any thoughts

It’s going to be hard to beat Hough. They took everyone’s best player and made a super team. I don’t know how it’s legal because one of the WR’s is my neighbor in Concord. He has a “room” in Charlotte but I see the kid daily here. I know there is another Charlotte schools assistant coach who is going to report it mid season which may affect wins from what he explained to me. Who knows I don’t care! I’m a Central grad and excited how they looked last night.

If it's true, why wait until mid season?

“Who knows I don’t care!” But yet you’re the first person to comment about Hough on this post. This isn’t the first time you’ve brought this up in the last few weeks and you spent time talking to a coach about it. Sounds like you care to me.

The mostly likely thought process is that if they wait until mid-season to report it, by the time the investigation on it is finished, Hough would be 9-0 or 10-0 and would have to forfeit all the wins and miss the playoffs.

This all needs to stop...

I have a really good idea for NCFB73. Tell your coaching friend, who is on another staff in Charlotte, and is going to turn the young man in midseason, to rake his own leaves, look in the mirror, and ask himself...What could we have done to keep this young man?

That is some soft stuff. Let's hurt the kid. C'mon man. Kids want to be coached. Kids want to compete to win, and kids want opportunities. Tell the coach that is an assistant at a school in Charlotte, that is going to wait till midseason, that maybe, just maybe, the grass is greener...

Recruiting, recruiting, recruiting...blah blah blah...Provide an optimal experience, with an opportunity to compete, and kids may stay...

By the way...I have not a dog in the fight.

I’m told It’s his 3rd school this offseason and I’m not getting in their business. I will tell you it’s going to get very interesting! I have no dog in this as well I’m just stating the facts that were told to me.

I don’t care if Hough wins it all or not, I’m just not a fan of how these super teams are built. If they win a ring, they owe a bunch of other schools a ring as well for developing these athletes for years before they were recruited.

Mannnn…

I still think it falls on the home school to keep their kids. Kids are going to go where they are going to get coached and some places do it better than others. Of the 3 schools he’s been to, what were the other 2 missing?

Him not getting a cool AI transfer graphic that all these fly by night social media companies have made sooooo cool.
Today’s kids have zero loyalty for the most part. They want attention. You watch colleges will start checking in the amount of transfers a kid has before an offer because it’s a cycle. This kid may on his own make himself ineligible because I still don’t see him in any roster. Why would Hough who can already order a championship ring chance this guy making them lose it all. Also remember there are teams in 8a who would do anything to stop Hough including reporting the player around week 8.

I agree totally. Building these super teams is ridiculous. This is why I don't follow the sport the way I used to. It used to be players wanted to play for their school. No more. It's who can give me, give me, give me the most. If Hough or Grimsley wins a state title, who freakin cares anymore? I don't because they aren't home grown teams. If Grimsley or Hough wins a state title now, what's the big deal? They're supposed to or they should with their activities in the portal. What's going on makes the accusations that used to be thrown at Charlotte Catholic laughable. It also destroys the argument of public schools not playing privates. Sure teams like Providence Day can recruit. Apparently teams like Hough and Grimsley can to.
