Eastern Plains 2A/3A is my 2025 P4P BEST conference in the state

Ever wondered what conference is the pound-for-pound champion in NC? When you have a 2A perennial champ in Tarboro and two top 10 teams in Kinston and Farmville Central, you ARE the P4P NC champ in my book! Eastern Plains conference beats out 7A contenders like the Greater Neuse River conference among other higher class conferences.

Here's how Eastern Plains conference stacks up against against a similar 2A/3A conference Swine Valley 2A/3A:

After reading Farmville Central is a top 10 team, I thought this list might be satire. After seeing the Eastern Carolina 1A as the 3rd best pound for pound conference, I then KNEW that it was a joke.

Someone is salty! If it makes you feel any better I have SWE ranked no.7 in 4A last year behind West Craven at no.3.

You need to ride with me tomorrow to Barton College for the jamboree there. I think it starts at 5. We scrimmage Cleveland at 8.

Can’t argue about Tarboro. I have my doubts about Kinston and Farmville.

@Otis1144 The list is an end-of-year 2025 ranking, not a preseason 2026 ranking. I could very well see Three Rivers 4A conference moving ahead of Eastern Plains conference in 2026. It's going to be an exciting year as always! And don't you worry @swe98 I'll keep my P4P ratings updated as the season goes on.

Yea I understood that which is why I replied about Kinston and Farmville. I should have explained what I meant by that comment. Tarboro can’t depend on them year end and out to make the conference better. And ole @swe98 should enjoy being ranked above us this year. I wish we played them last in the conference. I enjoy the rivalry with them and I have gotten to really like SWE98. He’s a good guy and a good sport.

Saw Eastern Wayne last night at our scrimmage. Pretty solid. They have a soft schedule on the front end, so I expect them to be 5-0 heading into the matchup with SWE. Playmaker at QB and a stud WR.

I wish I had known I would have gone. EW had some good talent last year. I enjoyed our game there last year. They have a really good administration and a great fanbase. We were really treated well. The coaches in the press box were even given free drinks. Something we need to remember when they come to Vanceboro this season.

That's awesome! Greenville Rose I felt was head and shoulders above everyone at our scrimmage last night, but I fully expect Eastern Wayne to have a good year.

We took it to Cleveland tonight. I thought we looked really good. 60 minute scrimmage with running clock we scored 2 td’s and they scored one on our first string and then scored on our subs. I’ll take it! Can’t wait to play Havelock!
