What’s a band with an underappreciated catalog or are overlooked as musicians?

Feels weird to say this given they ruled the charts in the 80s, but wow did Duran Duran have a ton of bangers. They also were very good musicians.

I even saw a recent concert on YT and they are still cranking.

What else you got?

Two of my favorite college bands are still in my rotation 30 years later: the samples and the freddy jones band. I like more songs from the samples but they are mostly melancholy. The freddy jones band has a few songs which I have on my party playlist or when I am relaxing by the pool. Also goes well with gummies:

Was it their lead singer who pasted recently? Big fan
Please repost but in English.

If you are asking if their lead singer just died, nope, he is still kicking at the age of 61 (randomly heard that on XM radio two days ago, I am not a super fan).

Apologies for the critical spelling error, but it was 3 doors down I was thinking about .

He actually has really good taste in music and food.
Clothes, not so much.
Well....not to brag but..... I did win the 8th grade "best dressed" as voted on by the young ladies of the class of '04.

So you....if the young guy needs some pointers I've got a couple extra Abercrombie polos, collar extra startched.

Until you answer me about wearing two polos at the same time, I can't vouch for your street cred.

Do The Talking Heads qualify as underrated?

When they were at the height of their popularity, I hated their music. I mean hated like I'd damn near dislocate my shoulder lunging at the car radio buttons to change the channel when one of their songs came on. 10 or so years later, I started listening to them a little closer & realized how damn good they were.

I will take that as a vote for underrated.

They are definitely a band that adult Gester likes far more than adolescent Gester did.

Skid Row and Cinderella were lumped in with all hair metal in the late 80s, but they both could play circles around pretty much all hair acts of the day.

Long Cold Winter is a great album for Cinderella and Slave to the Grind was Skid's "breakaway from the hair label" album that never got the recognition it deserved because people didn't know what to make of it...so much heavier and darker than the debut
