FYI, this will be voted on by the NCAA Division I cabinet this week:

The NCAA Division I Men’s Wrestling Oversight Committee introduced legislation to establish the first date of competition in men’s wrestling as the Friday of the 20th week prior to the Division I Men’s Wrestling Championship. The oversight committee requests the Division I Cabinet adopt the proposed change as expedited legislation at its June 23-24, 2026, meeting.
This passed so the season will start Oct 30

Scott Goodale has transformed Rutgers into one of the nation's premier wrestling programs. Since taking over in 2007, he has become the winningest coach in school history, guided the Scarlet Knights to their first NCAA individual champions, and earned 2019 NCAA Tournament Coach of the Year honors. His leadership has produced a record number of NCAA qualifiers and All-Americans while elevating Rutgers to consistent national prominence.
May be an image of basketball and text that says 'SCOTT GOODALE 249-106-1 Career Dual Record Coachen Anthony Ashnault & Nick Suriano 118 NCAA Qualifiers Coached 19 All-Americans'

PSU is going to Oklahoma.
Nebraska is going to Ok St. They have a “10 year agreement.”

From horses’ mouths to my ears.
The trip to OU makes sense as the return visit for last year. It'll be interesting to see if it's the only dual of the trip or if Cael will schedule something else. Last season they made a trip to Wyoming as a stand-alone dual so maybe the same will hold true with OU.

They forgot the "Perennial Top Ten" part.

Wrestlestat is listing Penn State-Lehigh on Dec. 6. I've not been able to confirm it with either school yet but it would certainly fall on the regular part of the schedule for that particular match.

I may need to make that trip as it is the closest they will get to central Texas. Would a Little Rock trip be a possibility? Give Cael to scout a few transfers for next years Iowa team. 😎

Penn State will host Northern Colorado on Fri., Feb. 18 for a non-confernece match. Time not yet out:

Possibly a trip to Greeley in Fall 2027?

Slumlord Bob lives in Colorado. Would be nice to give him a kinda-sorta home match, so he doesn't have to fly to Iowa City to see how level the field is.

That Nebby- OKST match is going to be
Loop Fire GIF by tracheotommy

125 Robinson v Spratley (close either way) 3-0
133 VanDee vs Jax (JVD is good but Jax too much) 3-4
141 Jack Hockaday v JRaney (raney too much) 3-7
149 Enchimedia vs Vega (this wll be good but Vega too long) 3-10
157 Antrell v Robideau (antrell too athletic) 6-10
165 Araujo v Dee Locket (LJ) 9-10
174 Minto v Facundo (maybe bonus for Nebby) 13-10
184 Lucas Cochran v Josh Norman ( would love to see lucas pull that off but I got Norman) 13-13
197 Cam MCDaniel v Cody Merrill (wow... close one) 13-16
HVY Cade Ziola vs DRoss (for the match a barn burner) 13-19

but a slip anywhere for OKST and Nebby could upset them.

umm...

Antrell too athletic? Come on man. He's already beaten him. And on the biggest dang stage.

Facundo won't be in the lineup at 174.
Norman 174
Berge 184

This I s starting to sound like Bo Basset's cross off recruiting list.🤔
Hey now, searching out mostly hidden but still public college wrestling schedules to figure out who Penn State was wrestling during the non-conference portion of the schedule has been around a lot longer than Bo Bassett's school list reduction haha.
