And you started another one? Why don't you give us some information on how our men's sports are doing?

There could be posts about 1) Coaches Poll just released yesterday 2) 5th year eligibility ruling - granting a 5th year to NCAA athletes who were not drafted 3) Recent updates to the Protect College Sports Act -most recent update both B1G and SEC commissioner endorsed on Friday Night or 5) just for grins and speculation: Who is the first P4 coach fired this year.
But NO, apparently more drivel about the WNBA supersedes any NCAA CFB updates.

What's keeping you from starting them?

There would be threads on the coaches poll if we were in it
A judge ruling against the NCAA is hardly newsworthy
The protect college sports act is too far away from being a reality to be worth discussing

There would be threads on the coaches poll if we were in it. (If that is the criteria, than there may not be much chance it gets discussed more than 3 times this year on this board)
A judge ruling against the NCAA is hardly newsworthy (Incorrect, it now allows players who exhausted their 4 years of eligibility and were not drafted are allowed to return to campus or enter the portal to play one more year, in any sport)
The protect college sports act is too far away from being a reality to be worth discussing. Incorrect , the bill had it's final draft and is being distributed to senators for a vote THIS WEEK.

Just goes to show how boring Baseball is. The Baseball season is just rolling along and no one is talking about it. Yes, the WNBA has gotten some recent bad publicity. However, I would rather have some bad publicity over being irrelevant. I think some are fearful that the WNBA may actually have a season of success. Otherwise, they wouldn't attack it so much.

Yes, I pointed this out in another thread. The WNBA is very much a social media league. You can hardly read an article about a WNBA player without it mentioning how many social media followers she has. Each game is preceded by a fashion show. It very could be that a lot of the current ridiculousness is intentionally designed to generate social media engagement.

The attacks aren't without provocation. It's not as if everything was copacetic.

It's a league going through growing pains for sure. All leagues do. Remember the PR gaffes of Isiah Thomas through the Bird and Jordan years. It happens. However, the league is growing and it's not just because of Caitlin Clark. She is the main reason, but there are others. Clark's team is only 3rd in Attendance this year. They are being outpaced by the Golden State Valkyries who are filling the Chase Center with 18,064 per home date. The NY Liberty are second at over 16,000 per home date. 9 of the 15 franchises are drawing over 10,000 fans per home date. I anticipate that number to rise next year as Dallas, Atlanta, and Washington have been playing in G League arenas because the demand was not there. However, they have been packing out those small arenas. My sister just drove 3 hours to go see the Las Vegas Aces play the Atlanta Dream last week and I know several people that have been doing that. Caitlin is driving the TV numbers and her games are very competitive or outdraw the Baseball games on TV over the weekend. That is why the TV networks find a way to have the Indiana Fever on every time they play. Is the league handling the gender issue they are experience right now in the best way? No. Did, Dijonai Carrington get in her feelings and say something stupid when you obviously made a foul that warranted an ejection? Yes. However, it comes with the territory with a league growing. I think they need a stronger leader at the helm, a David Stern type that will bring some order.

The league itself is a laughing stock, but the religiously staunch defenders are entertaining in and of themselves.

Go ahead and laugh, but in five or six years after Caitlin Clark wins a championship or two, there will be fewer and fewer people laughing with you.

Im not sure you're addressing my topic if you think her winning a title means anything.

Was my post the one you meant to respond to?

Have you talked to a Dr yet? Or at least approached the subject with any family?

Can't help myself, sorry. There is no football to talk about (yet) and the WNBA seems intent on doing/saying something every single day that's more ridiculous than the day before.
it is clearly a working strategy for them!

So work to be done, but it is essential work. There's a Bush League aspect extant now that must be shed.

I'm almost 50 and hope to hit my growth spurt soon. I'd say the W has finally figured out how to be relevant. And it's racism, gender uncertainty and hate. So since they just figured that out then yeah. They are going through growing pains. They are an embarrassment and should be relegated to ESPN Ocho and Fitts News.

Work to be done? Growing pains? This league is 30 years old.

Sometimes people compare the WNBA growth/development to the NBA, which is absurd. The NBA began in the late 1940s. There was nothing comparable. The league went years before even one game was nationally televised (1953), and only 1 game was televised. Twelve games were televised in 1954. This was a brand new product. There was, of course, no internet (so no streaming) or social media. Coverage was regionally isolated. Print media coverage was scant. The NBA had no advantages, no massive subsidizing by anyone to keep their heads above water.

The WNBA, on the other hand, has had ever imaginable advantage. With the wild popularity of the NBA in the 1990s, the WNBA should have found instant success. The very first league game was nationally televised, and they have had a nationally televised presence ever since. They, of course, have had the advantages of social media and streaming and round the clock sports coverage. And, notably, massive subsidization by the NBA.

Yet, in spite of having every conceivable advantage, they are still finding their footing after 30 years?
