So for clarity, this is just a change for the 2027 World Team Trials.

That said, I don’t believe anyone who had qualified under the old format is now on the outs thanks to these new procedures.

At present, I believe this is everyone who has already qualified for next year’s Trials - with a caveat:

Men’s Freestyle
- Spencer Lee (57kg)
- Brody Teske (57kg)
- *Austin DeSanto (61kg)
- Real Woods (65kg)
- *Jordan Williams (70kg)
- *Patrick Kennedy (79kg)
- Stephen Buchanan (97kg)
- Tony Cassioppi (125kg)

Women’s Freestyle
- Felicity Taylor (50kg)
- Isabella Gonzales (53kg)
- *Everest Leydecker (55kg)
- Macey Kilty (62kg)
- *Reese Larramendy (65kg)
- Kennedy Blades (68kg)
- Nora Akpan (68kg)
- Kylie Welker (76kg)
- Naomi Simon (76kg)

Greco-Roman
- Dean Peterson (60kg)

The caveat being - I’m unclear as to whether or not the athletes with an *asterisk next to their names are definitely qualified via their performance at non-Olympic weights this year. My educated guess is that they will be, but I haven’t found any official confirmation of that as of yet.

Also, in the immediate future these four Hawkeyes can qualify if they medal at next week’s U20 World Championships:

- Leister Bowling IV (Greco - 77kg), Taylor Whiting (WFS - 53kg), Karlee Brooks (WFS - 57kg), Bella Williams (62kg)
