These type of family/nepotism hires almost never work for the team.
I would bet everything that brad Calapari would recruit better than Mark Pope. Not a joke.

Pope gets another year after this one or UK can hire Brad Calipari on a five year contract. What are you doing?

This played heavily into Cal leaving, imho. Mitch had already shot down the practice facility and it was well known Brad was never going to be allowed to have a formal assistant title.

recruiting is not finished this year so might not finish #1, however he hasn’t had a number 1 recruiting class in 10 years (or maybe possibly one) and I doubt his son at coach would result in a number 1 recruiting class every year.
Well as of now he has the number one recruiting class. And I'm sure if he hasn't the last ten years it's been number two or something.
I don't doubt Brad and Cal together as much as I doubt Pope. I don't want Brad and Cal. But I would take them over Pope.
You are not a uk fan if that is what u want. Cal damn near destroyed the program once. Dont need him or his goofy kid anywhere near it ever again.

It's not really a high bar to coach better than Pope. I doubt that brad would be all that good of a coach. But better than Pope? Who isn't?
How did Cal even close to destroying the program? By leaving? It's not Cal's fault that Pope was hired.
