Caitlin Clark with 32 for Indy. Aliyah Boston went down with a knee injury, played only 11 minutes.
A'ja Wilson with 28/14 Aces won.
Ms. Wheeler with a great game, gotta love her, 17 pts/11 assists in the Sparks loss.
Trade Betnijah already, another DNP.

The basketball in this league is horrid but the drama around it is a soap opera.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Women's sports are playing catch up with the men's game and to expect the same type of play isn't reasonable;e.
But judging moth men's and women's sports on their own merits is the best way enjoy watching both .
Remember the NBA has close to a 50 year jump on improving their game
The NBA was formed in 1948 , 50 years later ,in 1997, the WNBA got its start
Comparing WNBA player's game to NBA players is like comparing George Yardley of old the Fort Wayne Pistons an all star from the 1950s to today's all star, Jaylen Brown of the 76ers,

The women's game has improved leaps and bounds, but still has a talent disadvantage , because the women haven't been developing their skills like the men have because the sport opened up to them much later and it took time to gain women's interest in playing the game once it became open to them The game always was open to women in colleges , but not seen a something most colleges felt making a major sport
That ended after The Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) was officially formed in 1971 and Title IX coming into play in 1972

Plenty of of other women’s sports are watchable. Tennis. Golf.

Basketball isn’t one. It’s actually awful. But the drama around, players in relationships, cheating with other players, and all else, it’s a soap opera. Women running a women’s league was always going to lead to this.

The 1st game was actually horrid.
The 2nd game was a great game. Missy Caitlin Clark had a triple double for a change.

Well Kahleah has a new teammate. Kelsey Plum! Should be very interesting to see them on the same side. Kah scored 31 for starters.

Helps PHX , but question of whether the Merc can keep Plum jeep me from thinking it's a great move.
A good one ,of course , for this year for playoff hopes but the cost for renting Plum might not be the best.
If it's a buy because she comes back , next season, a great move made

Sign this woMan. (S)he's a beast!

I'll pass, playing in a second tier French league isn't something that I feel is a good reason to say a player would be a beast on the floor as a WNBA player.

But kudos for your scouting and recommending a player that you feel would be a good fit for the league and end your feeling that "The basketball in this league is horrid but the drama around it is a soap opera."

Bro is dominating what are you talking about? Would make the wNBA more interesting. It's a pro, not a college prospect.

I like they dude who offered $10MM to one of the teams to play a boys HS team. Not sure why they aren't jumping on that opportunity. They are always crying about wanting more money. Well, here's your chance.

Understand and I had change my college implication to the pro game., but I guess you read and replied before that edit was made
Anyway I am glad to see you're all for a transgender athletes like JT being allowed to play and not shunned from playing competitive sports .
As for me, I'm not sure if I agree with you, but commend your progressive stance on the issue of allowing JT to play in the wNBA.
I just might be too conservative 😉 when it comes to my thoughts on matters like this

Yea, I want to see these dudes come and dominate, and they would. It would shut a lot of these morons up believe women are as capable as men on athletic fields. Apparently the examples we've seen to date haven't done the trick.

Girls deserve their own space to compete. But it seems like the world needs to see this all go down to agree.

Truthfully, I can't say I like the idea and though we disagree on many things we might be in agreement about transgenders in sports..

From everything I've read like :"comprehensive research indicates that transgender women do not have an inherent, consistent athletic advantage over cisgender women in sports after undergoing gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT), challenging previous assumptions of a widespread, unfair edge."
Also found:"While the majority of new, comprehensive data shows no advantage, some studies and experts have argued that in sports requiring high strength and power, previous testosterone exposure might not be fully reversed, though this is heavily debated. "

I remain skeptical and until the debate over advantage or not is settled, I'm prone to feel sports
should be classified by the sex assigned at birth but those who have had a sex change shouldn't be denied being considered the gender they changed to in other life matters

I try to find out about the issues I discuss to give an informed opinion, many might disagree with my opinion, but I try to remover personal bias and prejudice out of my POV .
On this issue I'll take a conservative approach , even if it is a little biased , because of the possibility
of transgenders having an unfair advantage in women's sports.

I’ve not seen one woman beating a man pretending to be a woman in any sport. Where is this data showing otherwise? “Lea” Thomas is a great example. Below par male. Pretends to be a woman. Dominates.

The WNBA has limited options after two men declared for the draft, and those options aren't great | OutKick
Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White put the WNBA in an almost impossible spot on Friday when they declared for the 2027 Draft in the wake of the Sophie Cunningham drama, and the ways out are limited.

Frankly, none of them are great for the league, which is, presumably, the point. Unless, of course, both former NBA stars are just itching to get back in the game of basketball.

I doubt it, though.

For those who missed it, Kanter and White called the WNBA's bluff by both declaring their intention to enter next year's draft within hours of each other Friday evening.

"If simply declaring who you are is all that’s required, then I meet every requirement necessary to compete in the WNBA," Freedom stated in a social media post.

"I'm transgender. I'm a woman. I identify as sometimes identifying as a woman for purpose of basketball, professional basketball, so I'll be declaring for the WNBA draft in 2027 as well," White later added. "They’re going to have nightmares, and they should. I really feel like I’m going to be dominant."

It's really very simple - it should be male and female sports. No matter what drugs you take or surgeries you have you can't change from one to the other. And yes, I realize there is a very small population that can fall in between.

Anyone defending this has their head up their ***: PURE THUGGERY.

looks flagrant to me.
White privilege is used too much when defending action , but sometimes it is true.
This time charge is BS in my opinion.

My goodness, the WNBA is sabotaging it's own league. It's like witnessing the worst car crash you'll ever see.

On top of all this nonsense, you have a coach who defends an opposing player who just clothlined one of your stars.

I would recommend the WNBA to people who enjoy shows like the Jersey Shore or any of that Housewives crap.

8/11 games.
The three last of the CVS players to be in WNBA, and all getting older. Erica Wheeler 35, Betnijah Laney 32, and Kahleah Copper 31. Sigh.

The COO privately has some very funny takes on that league. It’s a social engineering soap opera masquerading as a sports league.

For some that's true, others enjoy the dame and understand it has some growing up to do in terms of play compared to those who want to compare the WNBA player's type of talent to what NBA players have..
As for a WNBA player's ridiculous accusation based on race, accusations like that are common and every race has domeone claiming to be a vicyim of oppression because of their color and that's male & femal whiners doing that.
Nit so long ago a beauty contest winner lost her crown over raciest remarks, she claimed to be oppressed because she was expressing her Christian beliefs .
Whether that's true or not insn't the point, the point is people will try to excuse their actions by posing as victims while some look for any excise to put down something they find no interest in .

I can't say the WNBA is perfect or if it will be around in 100 years , but it does have a growing fanbase and the overall talent playing women's basketball is growing leaps and bounds because young women are taking more interested in playing the sport giving Women's Basketball a larger pool of players to find the more great talent to bring into College programs then on to the WNBA .

Knock it all you like, that's your choice, but it seems like the WNBA has rented a space in your head because you're constantly posting things you find to dislike about the game.

I look for sports I can enjoy and ignore the ones I don't
Line NASCAR racing is a great sports for some, I find it of little interest but know others feel differently and refuse to look for faults to nitpick about to make the sport look useless just because I'm not a fan .

I once felt women's soccer soccer was a waste if time to watch, but Carli Lloyd changed my mind after watching some games because she was playing and though not a big fan of soccer do enjoy watching some games
The FIFA games this year were very enjoyable..

MADHAT1, and Cali..go get a room. Thanks. ;)
Just watched the #1 team Minny battle with #3 team Vegas. What a game, best game this year. Nice to see that it was nationally broadcast on CBS. Olivia Miles showed why she will be Rookie of the year, incredible game. Of course she is from NJ, and didn't even consider Rutgers, sigh. In the other game Erica, and Betnijah were non factors, don't know why.
Just a question, did anybody else watch the game?
