Got nothing to post. Heading off to play at "Burgers on the Bay" with my band.........If you are in or around Madison WI come on out

Welp total fail on the boat gig. Beautiful summer day all day, and late summer days in Wisconsin are truly sublime. Get to boat and it’s humidity rising and wind picking up. It’s a pontoon boat, they are loading the burger boat next to us. All set up and sound checking getting ready to be towed out on to lake and starts raining! Scramble around putting trash bags and tarps on everything. Hang around on dock waiting rain never gets heavy but then across the lake down strike lightning! Alas! And then the wind kicks up like 40+ mile an hour sustained gusts! Never seen anything like it! All the teenagers working there dressed in pirate regalia. They start towing burger barge back in bu the high winds pushing it hard in the wrong direction suddenly crashes into back of the still docked band boats stoned teenagers dressed like pirates jumping into the water laughing trying to push boat away , stoned driver of tow boat struggling as prop getting fouled with hydrilla , gunning the engine totally useless! They finally have bright idea to tie off to tree on shore past the dock and save the burger barge from getting driven down wind and getting stuck under the bridge! They paid us but gave them back the money told em to tip all the teenagers with it. The burgers were good

I told a guitar friend of mine to record this song and have a killer 3 minute solo at the end of the song......he thought that the song was too old, and did not go for it..... here is Keith Urban and John Mayer absolutely killing this song. The last 3 minutes is guitar heaven.......

Sunday (8/9) was the birthday of the late, great, Billy Henderson. He was a founding member (in high school) of The Domingos. And he was still with the group when they changed their name to The Spinners. He was the 2nd tenor in the group, was considered the best dancer in the group, and was the only one of the founding members that never sang lead vocals. To celebrate:

In retrospect, of all the band break-ups back around then, this turned out to be the worst. Worse than Styx.

@Grant Green ID LOVE your opinion on this boys skills

Like the old school rock vibe and kid has good energy. He came up with a real solid blues/rock riff that's fun to listen to.

In terms of actual guitar skills, he's kind of mid, as the kids would say. Lots of blues scale and pretty simple chords. The main riff is cool, but not very difficult to play (I pretty much had 85% of it within 60 seconds). I'd like to hear some more soloing to give a better eval. The whole 'slide the fingers up the fretboard with rapid picking' thing is a little played out. Bands like the Oh Sees and Gizz have been doing that for years.

The band seems up your alley and probably good to see live.
