Didn’t expect to see moogy crashing out over a Michigan senate primary, but here we are
Not as bad as watching a faction of the left crash out after MAGAt's reign, but here we are ...
Taking power through the voting booth != crashing out, and I’m not even a DSA fan.
Who's running to them? It sounds like Abdul/Mamdani/etc are saying things that voters want to hear. Democratic leadership tried to beat them in the primaries and failed. What would you have them do? Refuse to support Abdul because you don't like a few of the planks on the DSA website (which he's never even said he supports)?
I mean, the dem establishment spent 60 MILLION DOLLARS fighting Abdul and he still overcame it because voters like what he has to say.
Wut? The people who voted for him are running to him. The people who support him, and who support the DSA, are running to them.

People support and vote for candidates that say things they want to hear and push for things they support. If you have a problem with people supporting DSA candidates (which Abdul isn't), then take it up with the milquetoast corporatist whores that you seem to want to continue running that have minimal support or excitement from the masses.
People are angry at the dems for capitulating and rolling over for MAGA and the constant calls to try and work with MAGA while Republicans constantly dick the dems over when they try. People, especially YOUNG people, want people who will fight for them, not roll over and capitulate because they think it's the 90s when dems and pubs worked together.
No, I'll think I'll hold the people who vote accountable for their votes. I'm crazy like that. I don't come from the "it's not my fault ... they made me do it" school of voting. That's how the MAGAts rationalized their stupidity and evil. Hopefully we don't repeat the same mistake, but various far left extremist factions (MAGAtsLeft until I think of something better ... maybe LeftoverMAGAts?) appear intent on it.
Lol idk how you got the assumption that I'm somehow trying to "excuse" people for voting for DSA candidates. You're completely missing my point for some reason. I'm saying the centrist Dems you're yearning for are failing in the moment because there are millions of people that are disgruntled with their fecklessness. You can keep crying about "MAGAtsLeft" but your inability to recognize what's going on is shocking considering you seem like a very intelligent person.
People are mad at the traditional corporatist Dem that seems more inclined to bend over for corporate interests instead of improving the middle and lower class. No one's asking to be "excused" for voting for these candidates. They're literally gravitating towards the people that are saying the things they want their elected officials to do.
The "vote blue no matter who" group is suddenly awfully ******* quiet now that their candidates are getting routed by "blue" candidates that are to their left.

A democrat that is as close to the center as possible is still SIGNIFICANTLY closer to the DSA than they ever would be to maga. Maga is that far extreme to the right

MARGARET BRENNAN: I want to ask you about something that's come up in the news recently. On this program, we have talked extensively about the really concerning rise in anti-Semitism in this country. There have been remarks in the past few days from some of your Republican colleagues that do seem hateful about other religions, specifically about Dr. Abdul Al-Sayed in Michigan, who just won that Democratic primary. Senator Tommy Tuberville said, "Democrats just voted to send a terrorist to the Senate. He's a radical Islamist." Nancy Mace said, "every single Muslim holding public office in America is a Trojan horse and a threat to both national security and our republic. We refuse to be silent." These are just two of these statements. Are you comfortable here? Does your party need to condemn language like this?
SEN. CASSIDY: I condemn language like that. It's not to say that- let me just stop. The- the- the- the- the- the- Muslims that I typically work with are doctors working in a remote area of Louisiana who otherwise would not have a physician unless Dr. Mohammed actually agreed to move there and be their doctor. Or he is the- or she is the professor teaching students something positive. Now- so you have to take every community in its totality. Every community has a bad apple, and every community has those people, my gosh, weren't they wonderful people? Now, my exposure has been to the wonderful people. I condemn those statements, and everybody should be treated as an individual. If somebody is awful, they should be treated as awful. But we shouldn't treat everybody as awful because somebody with whom they are identified may be awful, if you follow that.
